Modern, Simple 2 Bedroom Cottage as Seen in Country Living
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Beautifully restored 1800 two bedroom cottage set on 2 acres of sugar maple trees. The house is only 850 sq ft but it is perfect for a couple or family who want a clean, modern house with gourmet kitchen, good quality linens and quiet location.
The house is great for little children with toys and games but is also uncluttered and sophisticated.
Our house has 1 queen size bed in one room and 2 twin beds in the other room. We provide twin Aero beds if you need more than two twin beds. It is comfortable for two or four adults or two adults and two kids. Both bedrooms are upstairs. The bathroom is downstairs.
We have a dog who stays at the property when we're there. We welcome well behaved dogs.
Our kitchen has all new appliances - including a large range with central grill. Our knives are sharp and we have most cookware and utensils to cook whatever you like. We keep it stocked with most things you might need a bit of when cooking - spices, sugar and flour, etc.
There is a seasonal creek running just feet from the house and through the property. It runs most of the year and there is a fence to keep kids and dogs away if necessary.
The house has Wifi, iPod/Phone stereo dock, DVD player (with some DVDs and Apple TV (including Netflix watch instantly).
We have a gorgeous little cabin a few hundred feet from the house. With windows all around and set in the woods, it is a lovely place to sleep. It was built as an artist's studio and does not have running water. It has a wood burning stove but no central heat and electricity, if required is via an extension cable. It is a great place for two people during the warmer months but isn't for everyone. The cabin is only suitable for those capable of walking up a fairly steep, unpaved path. Please contact us for photos or more information.
We are located between Hudson, NY and Great Barrington, MA. Close to skiing, swimming, great restaurants, farms and hiking.
We are located in a wonderful part of New York State that has things to do in every season:
Fall - we have hundreds of maple trees on the property and the fall colors are spectacular.
Winter - Catamount ski resort is 3 miles away or snow shoeing at the new RoeJan park.
Spring - hiking in the Berkshires or visiting one of the many farms in the area.
Summer - swimming, Tanglewood or cooking out.
Please contact us with any questions.
Keywords: Woodland, Berkshires, cottage, skiing, swimming, hiking, cooking + restaurants.
Comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids but has room for additional 2 in separate cabin.

We spent our Thanksgiving holiday at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage is exactly as described. The grounds/views and countryside surrounding the cottage were beautiful. Like the previous reviewers said, the kitchen was our favorite place to spend time in as it was fully stocked and well designed. I highly recommend as a getaway from city life. The owner was great with communication and helped us/answered any questions we had.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This charming cottage was the perfect weekend retreat. If you love to cook, you'll want to spend plenty of time in their beautiful kitchen. We sure did. Our 2-year old daughter was also very excited to discover toys for her to play with throughout the home. The bedrooms were very comfortable with nice linens and mattresses. Thank you for opening your home up to us!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife, two year old daughter and I had a wonderful week here. We cooked, enjoyed the property and went hiking. The property and creek are lovely. Our daughter had a lot of fun and the house is beyond kid friendly. The kitchen is very well stocked with an excellent stove and cookware. In Great Barrington there are a few great markets – unfortunately we missed the farmer's markets. The owner was very helpful and left a useful guide to the area. We hope to come back.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My husband and I visited this adorable cottage with our dog and our newborn baby. The cottage is beautifully renovated and has been decorated with impeccable taste. It’s in a really tranquil spot and has a pretty fenced garden, which our dog loved. It also has all the comforts of home. We really enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped chefs kitchen and using the outdoor grill. I loved my long soaks in the claw foot bath. The surrounding is is beautiful and there is a selection of fabulous organic food stores close by. The Hudson Valley is a food lover’s haven. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful when booking, and have provided a great local information booklet. They were also super efficient with the return of our deposit which was returned the day we checked out. Overall a gorgeous little rental quite a find that we will definitely go back to.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
