Thank you Brenda for a lovely home. Our family reunion was a big success. The weather was rainy so we stayed indoors mostly. We had plenty of seating for everyone. The home was clean and new. Sunday was a rest day and we enjoyed watching the rabbits play out front and the woodpeckers eat. We loved the Riverview Marina Rest. The catfish and beans were the bomb! Thanks again and we hope to stay with you again next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your review! We are so happy that you and your family were able to have a place to get together. The cottage is in a beautiful location and there is a lot of wildlife to see. Come back to see us again!

We were needing a quiet, peaceful and stressfree weekend; the cottage indeed made it possible. The place is clean, carries positive and good energy and has everything one needs to enjoy a weekend away from home but still feel like you are at home. Our overall experience ranks as one of the top three weekend get a ways and we will return. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your weekend stay and look forward to being able to welcome you again!

We enjoyed our 4-night stay. The house is very pretty and roomy. Would have liked to use the paddleboat, but it wasn't at the dock. Had fun fishing and caught MANY little ones that lived to be caught another time.... We visited with old friends who lived nearby, and we'd consider staying there again if/when we got back to visit them again. Using the wifi in the sunroom was a little inconvenient, but I was happy to get a connection in the bedroom on the last night! Yea!Owner response: We are very happy that you had an enjoyable stay and had fun fishing. We are confused about the pedal boat comment, as it is located at the second dock next to our pontoon boat. There is a second pedal boat that is currently not docked and that is stored by the cottage. Perhaps that was what you saw and assumed that there was not a pedal boat operational. If so, we apologize for the confusion.

We stayed for a week in August for a family reunion and vacation. The cottage was immaculate, well stocked with supplies that we needed for the week. The pictures are a good representation of the house and property. We were visiting family and friends during the day, and it was great coming back to the house at night for some down time. Early in the morning we would sit on the back porch drinking coffee, listening the birds and enjoying the beginning of a beautiful day.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The house was very clean and neat; however, it was "clammy" feeling--needed a de-humidifyer. The owners were nice and helpful. Three things were very bothersome which, I believe, should have been noted: 1) There was no pedal boat as advertised available, 2) There was only a sleeper sofa (very uncomfortable) in the living room which didn't provide enough seating, and 3) if there actually was wi-fi in the house, it was too weak to get internet access.Owner response: We are sorry that you did not find things as you wanted. There is a pedal boat on the dock as advertised! The weather was hot and humid, thus certain people tend to feel clammy. The sofa has never been described as uncomfortable for sitting by anyone else and we are sorry you found it to be. We did provide another chair for your group as well. The wi-fi is in the sunroom as advertised as well. We wish you had addressed these concerns while you were here so that they could have been responded to at the time.

Loved it! It was quiet and out of the way, and so peaceful... I loved the 'little' extra touches, like the shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the bathroom; made it feel more like my own home. I would definitely recommend this cottage to my friends, and if I ever go back, I would certainly want to stay here!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are very pleased that you and your family had an enjoyable stay. We hope that you are able to come again!

We stayed for a week in May. The cottage was very clean and everything was as expected. The pictures were a good representation of what to expect. We enjoyed the stay - and any small issues that arose were handled professionally and promptly by Terry & Brenda. Having the landlord right next door was a nice perk and helped when we had questions, or needed extra supplies. We would recommend this cottage for anyone that wants a quiet place to stay. True country living - the closest store is 15-20 minutes away. Downtown Nashville is about 35-40 minutes. Beautiful countryside. We enjoyed horseback riding, canoeing, and zip-line tours during our visit to the area. The fishing didn't work out well - but not for lack of trying! Everyone we met in the town of Ashland City was very helpful and welcoming to us "yankees". Our dogs were welcome and enjoyed the big yard. Very dog friendly property with tile entry/sun porch and hardwood in the living areas. If we decide to vacation in the area again, it will certainly be a property that we consider again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: We are very happy that we could contribute to a great family stay! Come back and stay again!

Brenda & Terry, we had a great stay at your cottage in Ashland. If anyone is looking for peace, quiet and nature in a home that is only a short drive from Nashville your cottage is it. Along with taking advantage of all that Nashville had to offer we drove on The Natchez Trace, visited the quaint towns of Charlotte and Dixson and checked out Montgomery Bell State Park. I went fishing and didn't catch any fish but it was me and not the fish. While I was fishing, a couple of fishermen went by who were entered in a bass fishing contest. They assured me that there were plenty of fish in that location and that is why they were fishing there. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage. We had a greta time.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: We are so pleased to have played a part in you and your group having a great trip. We hope to see you back again!

About the owner: My wife and I bought this property after living in the area for a number of years. In this picture we are relaxing in the air-conditioned sunroom. It is a beautiful area that is convenient to everything, yet has all the charms of country life. We have completely refurbished the entire house to make it modern and comfortable. It has been a labor of love to see our home become a restful and comfortable place to return to.
Why the Owner Chose Ashland City:
We have lived in this area for a long time and feel that there is no better location to visit or live in.
