An extra guest is possible in the twin sleeper sofa. Dedicated off-street parking allows you to leave your car and explore Capitol Hill on foot. Within a half mile you will find espresso bars, hand-forged donuts, a ramen shop, fine dining, an independent movie theater, a public library, gas, groceries and tree-lined streets of gracious, early 20th century homes. This was our first experience with VRBO and we've certainly set the bar high for future travels. The cottage is nicely equipped to take care of any needs and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Great neighborhood to explore and find food, shopping, and site seeing. Check out the night view of the Space Needle! The cottage is small but open, inviting, great windows, and certainly comfortable for 2. We briefly met our pleasant hosts who live in the adjacent property and felt welcome to ask any questions. We highly recommend this location! Kelly & Tom (Madison, WI)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This is a completely fantastic place - I really, really loved it. The space is beautifully designed and has everything you'll need, including washer/dryer and dishwasher. The second night I had a cozy fire going and it was so homey (some issues with some cable channels coming in and out of service, but very fast and consistent wireless). Bed is very comfortable, towel warmer in bathroom is wonderful. It was too rainy and cold to spend time outside, but the courtyard is very charming. The 47 bus leaves every 20 minutes from a half block away and takes you within a couple of blocks of the Market and spots downtown, so convenient! I can't recommend it enough, I'll be staying in the future for sure.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I stayed here for 4 nights in April. The photos on the listing were completely accurate. The room was comfortable and quiet. Internet worked great. The kitchen and bath were fully stocked with appropriate items. I was able to have coffee every morning and sew some buttons on a sweater (they had the right thread color!). I would definitely stay again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

What a delight to lay in the bed with all the blinds open and see nothing but trees and greenery! We loved the extra details (warm towels!) to be found all over the apartment. We certainly enjoyed finding the original Top Pot only a few blocks away. Capitol Hill is our favorite neighborhood to stay in Seattle, and now Erik's cottage is our new favorite rental.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

we loved this studio in Capitol Hill. It was in the perfect location, and had the perfect layout. Everything about it was awesome. a great size for a couple, and a great place to explore the city. My husband used to live in Seattle, and I've spent some time there, and we both knew we loved the Cap Hill neighbor. The studio is located in our favorite part, amongst the larger old homes. There is so much great stuff in walking distance. The bed was insanely comfortable, with a heated mattress pad. Having a fireplace to shake off the cold/damp feelings of the Seattle weather was perfect too. We didn't use it, but appreciated that laundry was available. The kitchen had everything we needed and lots of goodies available like coffee, tons of tea, popcorn, etc. We loved this place and will definitely stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Nestled in a quiet corner of a lovely neighborhood on top of the Hill, the walking views of Seattle and the water are lovely. The Garden Cottage itself is carefully designed with everything you need in a peaceful environment. If your are interested in quality essentials with lovely design and a mid-century modern aesthetic, this place is IT. The host was friendly, helpful, and easy to contact. I stayed on a work-trip, and there were no distractions -- everything I needed was available and packaged beautifully. The location is ideally situated between an expansive, walkable park surrounding a quiet museum, a bustling street (conveniently lined with cafes, grocers, a gym), and downtown. I stayed for 10 days and wished I had reserved the flat for longer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We booked our stay several months in advance and Erik was very communicative and helpful as we prepared for our visit. When we got there, we felt like we were home! The lights were turned on, there was jazz playing in the background, it was perfect. Not to mention that the house was decorated impeccably! There were great suggestions for restaurants and activities. We were within walking distance of everything we could want in Capitol Hill and just a short drive from downtown and many other things. This was a perfect location, perfect amenities and excellent hosting. I would not hesitate to stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I loved my stay in the little cottage. It was just me and I truly loved the quiet, quaint coziness. It felt like coming home each evening after my daily excursions in the city. Lots of little details to make it comfortable and unique. All the amenities of home, so much better than staying in a hotel. Walked all around close by, plenty of shopping close by to the neighborhood and just a short walk over to South Lake Union and downtown. Absolutely will stay again next time I'm in Seattle.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Fantastic place to stay. The cottage is small but beautiful and exactly what you need on vacation. Very functional and efficient. Having a parking spot in this neighborhood is a HUGE positive. Very close to downtown and lots of great places in the neighborhood as well. Owner is easy to work with and has lots of great recommendations. Courtyard is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a beer in the evening.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

This is a beautifully designed small cottage. Although half the space of others that we have rented on Capitol Hill, it has twice the charm. There are no adjoining walls with other rentals, so noise, yours or theirs, is not a consideration. The location is lovely on the quiet end of a busy street, convenient to the 14 bus which will take you downtown in 15 minutes or less. And the parking space is a wonderful perk. The garden has a pretty gazebo with seating so that when the sun peaks through, you can sit outside and soak it up. A small oasis in an urban setting. We would rent this cottage again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Hello! We are Erik and Pamela, both natives of the Pacific Northwest. After meeting in Seattle, we moved to New York and Washington, D.C. and eventually decided to return home in 2008. We love fussing over details relating to this vacation rental, when we are not working at our day jobs as an environmental attorney and freelance photographer/marketing director for an organic farm on Lopez Island. We adore biking, skiing, fishing and trading notes with pretty much anyone on the vibrant restaurant scenes in Seattle, Portland and Vancouver B.C. We also love renovating homes (we are on our fifth in 11 years). There's just something addictive about the process of creating something personal, beautiful and functional for us, our friends and our guests to enjoy. We thought we received the highest compliment ever when one of our contractors asked if he could bring his wife to stay at the cottage for their anniversary.
