Private oceanfront house located on Oahu's West (Waianae) Coast near Makaha Surfing Beach. Enjoy the deep-blue ocean and great sunsets from the lanai and large grass lawn. Nap to the sound of the waves. The property fronts coral reefs and is five houses to a sandy cove where green turtles come to shore and bask in the sand.
The main house is upstairs; three bedrooms, two full baths, great for two families. Well stocked kitchen, living room, fully-furnished with cotton sheets, beach towels. Three king size beds-one in each bedroom, two double beds and a double futon couch in back family room, and a double futon couch in the livingroom. We have two small children's futons and a crib. Downstairs is the caretaker's unit. There is high speed internet access for your laptop, cell phone reception is good.
The beach cove is one of the few places were sea turtles frequent most days, you can snorkel with with them and tropical fish like Humu'humu'nuku'nuku'apua'a

This house made for the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience i've ever had. We had 4 adults and 2 children (the house could have comfortably allowed another couple), and never felt crowded. Lia (the caretaker downstairs) was great, and we saw turtles at Aki's beach every day. we'll definitely come back. This affordable, but roomy and comfortable house on the water is truly a gem.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The house is located within 5 minutes walking distance to Turtle Beach where you can do snorkling, boogie boarding or just swim the wonderfully blue waters of the ocean. Sunsets at Turtle Beach are all unique and unforgettable. The house is very spacious and has a large veranda above the well maintained lanai. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the accessories and appliances you need. We mostly ate at the house, but you can enjoy the restaurants in close proximity. Especially one recommended spot is the Down To Earth store in Kapolei (approx. 11 miles) which has a wide variety of vegetables, fruits and nuts and a fabulous salad bar. Just perfect for the Hawaiian climate. Costco is also in Kapolei which is important for the budget conscious traveler. For families with very young children Ko Olina lagunas are excellent for them to learn their way into the ocean waters and socialize with other sandbox afficionados. Access to the property is via electronically controlled gate, which makes it very convenient for the tired driver. Sand toys, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach towels and chairs, etc. are available at house. Lia, the house keeper, is very hospitable and ready to help with any questions or concerns one may have. She managed to fix in no time a problem we reported with the Internet. We can go on and on and on, but the shortest version is: Excellent! Thank you Sinclair for the opportunity to have one of the best vacations in years.

The home was in great location. Extremely well kept, very clean! They provide everything you could need for inside the home and for going to the beach. Lia downstairs was helpful in directing us to a safe beach for younger children. It was also nice to be away from all the traffic in Honolulu. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family loved having the Makaha house as a base for our visit on Oahu. Away from it all and awesome views from the lanai. Our favorite time was morning coffee on the lanai or watching the sunset from the deck by the seawall. Our girls were so much at home they said they thought we had moved to Hawaii rather than just come for a visit. Plenty of space to spread out for some well needed down time. House was well maintained and information from the owner/caretaker was helpful regarding things to-do and restaurants. Beach accesses are well marked - several blocks away to Turtle Beach. Watch the surf as it was pretty high this time of year. We shopped at Safeway in Kapolei and Tamura's in Waianae and liked Taco's and More and for a different experience try Kahumana Sustainable Farm up the Valley.
