Million dollar waterfront views, a world class pristine sand beach and unique amenities, offered at far lower than waterfront prices, equal unparalleled value!
For more info and pictures, please visit our website (see link below in contact info).
This private, comfortable and well appointed house sits across the street from million dollar waterfront homes and offers unobstructed panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez, islands, mountains, white sand beaches and sunsets. It is located in the prestigious, gated Villas California neighborhood, on the beach and minutes from central San Carlos. The community palapa (open air community centre) featuring a pool, jacuzzi and entertainment area are available for your use. As a resident of Villas California, you have complimentary access to the facilities of the nearby San Carlos Plaza Hotel – tennis courts, exercise room, and pools (complete with reasonably priced poolside bar and restaurant service).
The ground floor entry level has two air conditioned bedrooms (one double and one single) and a full bath between the two rooms. The laundry room is also on the ground level. The door from the laundry room opens into the small back yard, which offers shady refuge from the afternoon sun.
At the top of the curved staircase you will find the master suite, a recently renovated powder room and the great room, all with individual climate control and ceiling fans. The great room offers a seating area in front of the gas fireplace, a dining area, spectacular views from the window of the spacious and well equipped kitchen and access to the huge deck.
The attractive master suite boasts a substantial closet area and a huge and sunny 6 piece bathroom. The bedroom contains a new and luxurious king size bed and a television with satellite reception and DVD player.
Under the kitchen sink lies a hidden treasure – a reverse osmosis water filtration system! The system supplies fresh, drinkable water to the kitchen sink, the fridge cold water dispenser and the master bathroom. We are very careful to change the filters more often than necessary, so you can confidently drink water right from these taps, a rare treat in Mexico!
Start your day sipping your coffee, tea or champagne on the huge deck outside your bedroom in the shade of the palm tree , basking in the sun, or lounging in the 14 foot jaccuzi tub. After your day of relaxing, hiking, exploring, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, etc. you can walk 20 minutes along the pristine white sand of the famous Algodones beach to the renowned Soggy Peso beach bar. Enjoy watching the world class kite surfers and listen to live music while sipping on an icy cold margarita and nibbling your fresh crab tostada. Afterward, you can walk safely home on the beach and enjoy a DVD or watch English language satellite TV on your flat-screen TV. Or, if you still have energy, run into San Carlos or Guaymas to catch some nightlife and live music!
This spectacular 3,000 square foot air-conditioned house offers by far the best rental value in San Carlos! Our local caretaker is readily available if required.
All inclusive hosted vacations, which include guided activities and day sailing can be arranged. We have a full website for further information, and we're always happy to answer your questions by email.

Had a terrific stay with my wife and our friends from 3/21-3/24/2013. The owners were fantastic to interact with and made our stay even more enjoyable than expected. The property was better than "advertised", extremely clean, well maintained, and is in a great location. We'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great stay in San Carlos. Will definitely return.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Wow, we're thrilled that you enjoyed our home and your holiday that much! Thank you so much for your kind words - we're very flattered. You were great guests and we look forward to seeing you again.

To put it bluntly, this is an amazing house to be on the rental market. For the past 25+ years we have vacationed on the Baja and the mainland coast of the Sea of Cortez. This home in San Carlos is a gem. We came here for a month in 2011 and for three weeks in 2013. It doesn't get any better than this. Owners Bill & Micheila have a two story well built, cared for, and modernized home complete with satellite TV, an office with wifi, and a huge master suite that opens onto a lovely balcony. The view from this house is territorial: from the Marina Real, along the entire white sand Algadones Beach up two bays to the north, to the mountains of ever changing colors in the east, then south to Tetakawi. Depending upon the time of year, you may go home remembering the gray whales blowing offshore, porpoises and pelicans in closer, swimming every morning in the warm water, or dinners of fresh prawns at home watching indescribably beautiful sunsets silhouetting The Three Virgins on the Baja Coast. As a guest in the gated Villas California, you have access to the San Carlos Plaza Hotel swimming pools, gym, beach, restaurants, etc. You can rent water sports equipment and access the sand dunes from there. Walking 20 minutes further north you end up at the infamous Soggy Peso---well known for its friendly staff, crab tostados and the best margaritas ever. Sitting with your toes in the sand and basking in the late afternoon sun, listening to live music and watching kiteboarders just offshore is a good way to end your holiday. We always do and we'll definitely be back next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Well, you have clearly become smitten with San Carlos just like the rest of us! Thanks so much for your kind words about our home and your perfect description of the idyllic lifestyle at Cortez Paradise. We look forward to welcoming you back next year!

My boyfriend and I were here for two weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays.. despite some mediocre weather (aka clouds.... which are apparently very rare!) we had a blast. The house is great... felt like home. Loved the kitchen water filter, that was very convenient! Also enjoyed sunsets on the patio every day. Nearby beach was great, and we had fun exploring the area and meeting the friendly locals. Recommended!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your very kind review. We're delighted that you had so much fun. There's something for everyone here, isn't there? P.S. So sorry about the clouds. That really IS rare...

We sent to San Carlos for a scuba diving trip and some horseback riding. This house is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation/holiday. It is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is very clean and spacious. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable! Nice cold air conditioning and we loved that the water was R.O. filtered for drinking. The community pool is really nice and clean as well.It would be the perfect place for any event.Bill and Michella are very accommodating and personable. In fact, we even had the privilege to share a dinner with Bill one night! The location is close to everything you could possibly dream of doing. We come to San Carlos twice a year. We will be staying here again, just so we can watch the amazing sunsets from the spacious margarita deck.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: You are very kind! We loved meeting you and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the house as well as your vacation. We sure do get a lot of comments on that bed! We agree it is extremely comfortable. It was manufactured by a Mexican company and purchased in Guaymas, so sorry, you will not find one in Tucson! Thanks so much for your kind review. We look forward to your next visit.

This was the first time we stayed at this property. It was as promissed. The beach is an easy walk from the house. The sea of Cortez is nice and balmy. Unlike the Pacific, Carribean, or Atlantic Ocean, you don't get pounded by mini sunamis. This makes it nice for us seniors. The house is spaciousand comes with all the bells and whistles to make you comfortable. We will definitely rent this property should the need arise. ,The owners are very pleasant to work with and made sure that all problems were resolved in an expeditious manner.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We enjoyed meeting you and your friends and we look forward to seeing you again. Thanks for being great guests and taking such good care of our home!

My family stayed at this lovely home for a week in May. It was everything we could have wanted. We ate breakfast on the large balcony and enjoyed the ocean views. Sunsets were amazing as well. Having access to the resort was an added bonus. The ocean was a little too cold for my little one so the warm pools at the resort were great. The resort is very kid friendly - with its own kid playroom, playground, and water area with slide and dump bucket. The breeze on the beach was heaven. I have stayed in a few houses around the world and this one was the best for just relaxing and enjoying the beach. The owners are also very helpful and friendly.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind review, amiga! We are so pleased that you enjoyed the house and the area. It was a great idea for that special birthday. We are already looking forward to your next visit!

My husband and I and our 12 year old daughter vacationed here in March 2011. We had a great time--lot of relaxation at the beach and poolside at the resort/hotel conveniently located next door to the complex. Nice to come back to our spacious, cool and private house for afternoon siestas! We loved the huge deck and great views of the mountains/ocean from the second floor of the house--great sunsets!! We enjoyed a chartered boat cruise (Gary's) where we got up close with dolphins and recommend the Pearl Farm where you can see how pearls unique to the Sea of Cortez are farmed (and then purchase them!). San Carlos is a quaint village but still lots of restaurants and shopping. The Soggy Peso is wonderful and there were no issues bringing our daughter to the beach bar. I would recommend having detailed maps of the area and the route from nearby airports to the house.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to send us your comments and helpful suggestions for activities, Dana. We're glad you and your family enjoyed your stay, and we'd love to have you come back! We agree with your map suggestion. Getting to and from the nearby Guaymas airport is very easy, but I know you flew in and out of Hermosillo, which is a bit trickier. We once had maps in the house, but they have disappeared, so we will replace them with multiple photocopies so folks can take them to the airport when they leave the house. We have also now provided a list of helpful phone numbers, including the airlines for reconfirming flights. On behalf of future renters, thanks for your helpful suggestions!!

My husband and I shared this house with friends at the end of October 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. I'm sure everyone who visits will comment on the sunsets from this San Carlos house as they are absolutely spectacular. But I also loved sitting on the deck at sunrise - the deck tiles already warm underneath my feet and the hills behind San Carlos lighting up as the day began. Then I'd head down to the ocean for my first swim of the day. It was heaven. The house is located at a rocky headland. It is a two minute walk in one direction onto a long sandy beach. There are dunes behind much of this stretch of beach. In the other direction from the house there's a bit of a rocky walk for a few minutes and then another beach to explore. The house was well equipped and we found groceries to be very inexpensive. Eating out was also a real bargain with wonderful choices within easy walking distance. We definitely hope to return for another visit.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your kind review. We are so glad you all enjoyed your time at Cortez Paradise and we hope to see you again!

Even in late Oct. it was toasty here. Each morning we'd start our day on the deck chairs on "the bow"; the huge deck that gave us a panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez, the islands, and the long curving sand beach. Coffees in hand, we'd watch the pink and blue skies, the pelicans flying by on their morning commute, and the sun rise. In shorts, t-shirts and bare feet weather. We'd spend arduous days exploring the desert, towns and beaches in the area (and we found it both easy, even with our limited language skills, some would say non-existent, and safe). Having naps in the beautiful air conditioned home, swimming in the clear warm ocean waters, reading books, checking our email, reading more books, eating fresh local food... Late in the day we'd walk from the house down the beach for crab tostadas at the Soggy Peso. Go early to get the best sunset view. We'd head home walking down the beach in the dark, still in shorts, bare feet and t-shirts, through the hotel grounds and into the gated community. Then more time on the deck preparing to rinse and repeat the next day. Recommended!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Wow! What a perfect description of life at Cortez Paradise. Sounds like you both enjoyed "the green chairs" as much as we do. We're so glad you had a great time and we hope you'll be able to come back again. Thanks very much for your kind review, John.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in early October 2011. We were in the area for a family wedding and this was the best value we could find for a spacious house right by the beach. Definitely happy with our choice, as we had a wonderful two weeks in San Carlos and the house was pretty much perfect for our needs. Weather was flawless for the entire 2 weeks we were there -- hot in the daytime and a bit cooler in the evenings but still humid (house is nicely air conditioned if necessary). San Carlos is really dry so apparently rain is super rare. The house itself is big and spacious... tile floors, modern appliances, well maintained and spotlessly clean!! The master bedroom is plenty big with a very nice ensuite bathroom, other bedrooms are standard size. The deck is attached to the living room/kitchen area as well as the master bedroom and offers stunning 180-degree views of the beach/ocean. We soaked up many gorgeous sunsets from the privacy of the deck. Only minor drawback was that the hot tub on the deck (it's quite small) wasn't heated so it was a bit too chilly to use in the evenings. The house is in a quiet, upscale gated neighborhood. Although it's across the road from the ocean, it's not really a big deal because a) every room upstairs (+the deck) has great ocean views; and b) there is a gorgeous beach just 2 minutes walk away. The neighborhood has a big, clean community pool (about a 30 second walk away) which you can use... it's a great place to read a book and drink a cerveza!! (would be nice if there were some lounge chairs at the pool.) At the end of the street (2 minutes walk away) is a resort hotel with several pools, fresh water showers, an outdoor restaurant, etc. You can walk through the hotel pool areas to a gorgeous white sand beach that stretches for at least a mile. Great spot to go for a walk - we often meandered down the sand to a nearby beach bar. The water is beautiful and warm, great for swimming!! The house is about a 5-10 minute drive from the 'downtown' area of San Carlos which makes it very quiet and peaceful (area feels VERY safe), but you almost certainly need a car to get around. Roads are quiet and driving is easy so you can head into town for groceries/etc when necessary. We spent lots of time at the pool/beach but also had time to explore the area a bit (saw a roadrunner!). There is diving/parasailing/boating/ATV'ing/etc in the nearby area too. Overall this was a great house in a beautiful location!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your kind comments. We're very happy that you loved our place as much as we do. Thanks for taking such great care of it for us, and we look forward to your return!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We are a recently-retired government manager and a health care administrator and developer. The Soggy Peso beach bar is our favourite place in the world (so far).
Why the Owner Chose San Carlos:
Our sailboat has been in San Carlos for the past five years. During our many visits here we fell in love with the town, the friendly, welcoming people and the fact that San Carlos is not a touristy location filled with people selling souvenirs and timeshares. San Carlos is easy to get to and very, very safe!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love the gorgeous Algodones beach and the warm swimming and snorkeling it offers. The use of hotel amenities is a huge bonus, and some days we just like to lie in a lounge chair by the pool and drink inexpensive beer! The diving pelicans provide constant entertainment and every night we enjoy a spectacular and unique sunset from our deck or our kitchen window.
