Our 2.3 acre property with 186 feet of direct Lake Michigan frontage is in the historic Pierport community. Our beachfront is a direct walk out to a beautiful wide sandy Lake Michigan beach. It is possible to walk several hours both north and south, on this lovely beach north to Arcadia and south to Onekama. The property also includes a small stream which flows out to Lake Michigan and a large flat yard perfect for all types of lawn games. A large firepit area and romantic swing overlook Lake Michigan's special sunsets.
The main house includes: three bedrooms downstairs, full bath, living/dining room, and kitchen. There are two bedrooms and a half bath upstairs. The screened porch has additional seating and a dining table overlooking Lake Michigan.
A separate guest house is fully self contained with one bedroom and a kitchen with all new stainless appliances. It also has a living/dining room, full bath with whirlpool tub and washer/dryer. It is great place for family members who would like a bit more privacy. The guest cottage also has a pull out queen sofa bed in the living room. It was totally redone in 2011.
There is a flat screen HDTV in each house. Both cottages have fireplaces. WiFI/Internet is provided.
The main house is a classic Lake Michigan cottage originally constructed in 1889. There is a pretty wooded area across the stream from both cottages. Woodlands are also across the street.
This is a beautiful waterfront setting and a perfect place to enjoy a classic Pure Michigan summer. We live here in the Spring and Fall of each year. We only rent for 10-12 weeks in the summer. We do not rent for weekends or during the other seasons of the year.
Additional pictures are available on request.
Property comes fully furnished with bed linens, towels, beach towels, dishes, silverware and cooking utensils.
Furnished with classic furniture and some antiques.
The Lake Michigan sunsets never cease to amaze.

Hello David: I have thought many times about writing to thank you and tell you that we found your place to be utterly magical. Sunset occurred soon after we arrived, and it was the first of many breathtaking sunsets we paused to marvel at each evening we were there. It set a tone of enchantment we felt as one day followed another with a rhythm that mirrored that of the sea. Our children live on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts--yet they found your beach more beautiful than their own frequented beaches. All of our needs had been provided for. We especially enjoyed our several campfires and the full moon rising; our second day brought fierce winds and rushing seas that toppled our sand castles and flung the children about on the riding waves. It was the perfect place to reunite with our family--to scour the beach alone for shells and stones, or to socialize with one or another in the swing on the promontory, or to eat together and tell stories on the porch. Deer wandered through in early morning as I did yoga on the lawn. All in all it was most satisfying. We all send thanks for a wonderful week!Did you find this review helpful? A great spot on Lake Michigan with a beautiful beach right outside the door. A place to go with kids or just the adults. The grounds of the property are well maintained and afford plenty of privacy. Our kids spent hours playing in the lake, on the beach, and in the natural spring stream that cuts through the sand into the lake. When they needed a break from the sand/sun, the property around the cottage has enough yard for a game of football, wiffle ball, frisbee etc. We have stayed in this cottage in years past and must say that the new owners have done a wonderful job modernizing the place, yet maintaining the cottage feel. The guest house (aka carriage house) is entirely brand new inside and a great place for additional guests. A convenient bonfire area was cleared out within the seagrass. A perfect place for enjoying the sunset while roasting marshmallows and for viewing the stars after darkness settles in. We loved the place. Hated to leave and come back to "reality". Thanks!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We spent three years looking for a Lake Michigan waterfront property and were fortunate to find this very special property. To preserve the serenity, we do not allow jet skis/personal watercraft on the property.
Why the Owner Chose Arcadia:
This beautiful Lake Michigan beachfront property is accessible with only three steps. We really liked having the two separate cottages (one contemporary and one classic).
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Northwest lower Michigan's wonderful towns are easily accessible with both Sleeping Bear dunes and Traverse City only an hour north. For our golfing friends, Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course (Michigan's #1 public course) is only five minutes north.
