The Hampton Hideaway provides an unmatched serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. This was the home of Wilmer Hampton, founder of Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort and is nestled in a valley of 26 acres of cherry orchards and 600 acres of forest. The Hideaway is located about 6 miles (15 minutes) from the Hampton Lodge at Mission Ridge and about 15 minutes from downtown Wenatchee.
Enjoy walking through the forest along an old logging road or make your own trail. Climb a hill for a great view of the sunrise. We have our own sledding hill and sledding saucers for your wintertime fun. Taste sweet cherries during our July harvest. Find a quiet spot for a picnic. Gaze upon the deer feeding in the early morning or listen to the owls hooting at night. Enjoy the view of a star-filled sky from your private hot tub.
The Hampton Hideaway is furnished with 3 queen beds in separate rooms and 3 twin beds in one room, cotton linens and down blankets. Kitchen is fully equipped with service for 10. Comfortable living room has large screen TV, DVD/ Blu-ray player.
Whether you are planning a family vacation, a quick weekend getaway or are visiting for business, the Wenatchee Valley has an adventure for you. With four distinct seasons, 300 sunshine-filled days a year, a river running through town and mountains so close you can touch them, your stay in Wenatchee Valley will be memorable.
Greg and JoAnn look forward to welcoming you to their home.

What an enjoyable experience! Greg and JoAnn generously donated two nights stay to the Applearians silent auction fund raiser and we were successful in our bid! Since the home slept 9, we invited my two sisters and husbands to join us for two nights!! It was fun being together in such a relaxing atmosphere, The home is so well appointed including anything and everything to make the stay very enjoyable,,,all the electronics (including WiFi) the kitchen totally well equipped, comfortable beds, beautifully decorated, and the bathroom amenities were 1st class.,,., my husband I recently travelled 10,000 miles in 56 days across the US to the Maitimes, New England States, New York, Washington DC, to NC, Texas, Tennesee and many places in between and stayed at many many hotel, motel, and cottage accomodation,,,, so we can compare accomodation,,, The Hideaway ranks way up there!! We would recommend this property to friends or relatives for a group get away if you enjoy peace and quiet and a large hot tub to relax in! The cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee are within about 20 minutes if persons like to shop! It is great to cook in so we cannot recommend a nearly restaurant,,, but there are many in Wenatchee! Thank you Greg and JoAnn for sharing your lovely cottage!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Bob and Gerry, We are glad you enjoyed your stay. It was fun choosing our furniture to make the Hideaway a relaxing and comfortable place. We had a panel of friends test a variety of bathroom amenities and the Baronessa Cali Oliva line won hands down - glad you liked it! Hope to see you at next year's Apple Blossom Festival. Wonderful location and beautiful surrounding hills and forests. The house is family friendly and has very comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking, both of which we did. The house was clean and well maintained. It was a great place to have our grandkids from Wenatchee come and spend time with us. We have already scheduled our next visit here for July.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Barbara, I am glad you enjoyed your stay at the Hideaway and am looking forward to your visit in July. Since I brought you my large pot while you were here, I have purchased a new large (12 quart) Quisinart pot to match the Hideaway set. I also have a new knife set on order. Here's to happy cooking! JoAnn

We can't say enough about the Hampton Hideaway! Kitchen had everything you could ever need, home was immacate and instantly inviting... The beds were fantastic (our family of 5 has never slept so well on the road). Our children LOVED the Hideaway and the friendliest cat in WA renamed "Love" who came to visit us from time to time... We will stay here every year for our son's tournament and make the Hideaway our tradition. If you are considering a hotel in Wenatchee, scratch that and stay in the most amazing home within a large orchard. The Hampton Hideaway is a Diamond! The "D" TeamRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Shane, Thank you for the great review. Our orchard cat is very friendly and loves to visit with our guests. (She is supposed to stay outside.) We'd be pleased to have you stay again. JoAnn and Greg

We loved our stay. It's very close to Mission Ridge Ski Area which is a great family area. So we came to ski. The little kids also loved exploring the orchards. The house is very neat and clean and well equipped. We will probably come again.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Dorothy, We are glad you came to stay at the Hampton Hideaway again. It was exciting to have our first repeat guests. Hope to see you again next year. Greg and JoAnn

We stayed at the Hampton Hideaway recently with another family. The place is large enough to spread out in, is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The location is super convenient if you are skiing at Mission Ridge, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, hiking or biking. Or, if you have things to do in Wenatchee and don't really want to stay in town, the drive up the canyon is pretty short in the event you need to be close to town. It's quiet, has nice territorial views, and the old apple orchard is fun to walk around. We took the kids for walks to look at all the old farm machinery and outbuildings. It would be fun to hike the property and get up on the ridge behind to take in the views. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Dave, We will be happy to have you stay again. Please feel free to hike to the top of the ridge on your next visit. There are several nice spots for a picnic or just taking in the view of our cherry orchards. JoAnn and Greg

We stayed here for a weekend of skiing at Mission Ridge, and it was the perfect location for our trip. It took us about ten minutes to drive from the house to the resort. The property features a refurbished farm house with all new and excellent amenities. Everything was super clean, well maintained, as advertised. The bedroom layout was great for our two small families; everyone had enough space and privacy, and we had lots of fun together in the big living room. More, the grounds are beautiful and interesting to explore; the house is surrounded by orchards and it has views of the hills above Wenatchee. We plan to come back and stay here again. I would certainly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Eric, We are glad you enjoyed our home and land. It was a pleasure to host your group. Greg and JoAnn

We just spent three days in JoAnn and Greg's lovely home. We had a big group and there was enough room for us all. It is such a well equipped home. We have rented several homes and condos and I have to say that this one is probably the most well equipped, they even had a waffle iron and ice cream maker!!! We will definitely stay there again next year when we make our yearly trip to Wenatchee. Sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the beautiful stars was awesome. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we look forward to coming back next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Angela! We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed all the comforts of home that we have provided. Please let us know, if there is anything special you would like on your next visit. It will be our pleasure to have you stay at the Hampton Hideaway again next year. JoAnn and Greg

We had 7 adults and 3 children and I was a bit worried it was going too small for all of us but it was perfect. There seemed something for everyone and we didnt feel crowded. The location was great for the skiing/snowboarding, the hot tub was perfect after our time at the mountain, the netflix on the TV was great and was an overall great time had by all. Thank You Greg and JoAnn for sharing your lovely home with us and we look forward to returning again next year.Owner response: Lea Ann, We are delighted that you enjoyed the Hampton Hideaway! Please come again. JoAnn and Greg

It was a last minute decision, our other plans for the week had changed and we decided to see what Wenatchee and Mission Ridge had to offer for the family. We found the Hampton Hideaway and locked on it for the week (presidents week) and headed out. We got there and Greg came down to greet us and show us around before heading back up to their house on the hill. The house is surrounded by apple orchards, there was snow on the ground and the kids couldn't have been happier. When tuesday morning came and we were getting ready to head to Mission Ridge the boys said they didn't want to ski but would rather play around the house, on the sledding hill, and walking in the woods. We finished off the day in the hot tub. Wednesday & thursday were spent up at Mission (a short 10 min drive) where we met some of the friendliest mountain folk I have encountered in years. Ever single person we talked to had a huge smile and was happy to help — from the hosts in the parking lot to the guys working the terrain parks or running the lifts. Back at the house we again finished the day off in the hot tub. Friday came too quick and we packed up and headed home. We are already working to find time to head back out this year or next.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Byron, It was a pleasure to have your family stay at our hideaway! We are so glad you had fun on our sledding hill and up at Mission Ridge. Looking forward to having you come again. Greg and JoAnn

We were happy we came and spent quality time in quiet place surrounded by hills, trees and a lot of snow... We were able to take rest after busy work schedules, meetings and projects in place where you almost do not see people or cars at all. Sunshine, blue sky, fresh frozen air (10F), lots of snow on the ground, trees... We were walking, sledding, hiking. Hot hut tub water was awesome while outside temperature only 10-15F. Owners are very good people too. Thank you very much, Greg and JoAnn!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Vasiliy, It was a pleasure to share our home and snow with you and your family. We are glad you enjoyed the sledding hill and soaking in the hot tub after playing in the snow. We hope to see you this summer. Greg and JoAnn

Owner info
About the owner: Greg Hampton was born and raised in Wenatchee. His dad, Wilmer, founded Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort. Greg is an avid skier and was a ski jumper as a kid. He and JoAnn met while serving as Air Force officers at a US base in England. They were married in her home town in New Jersey. After their active duty tours were over, they settled on the family homestead in the Squilchuck area of Wenatchee. Greg manages the family orchard and JoAnn is a home health physical therapist. They have four children, two son-in-laws, and three grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Wenatchee:
This property has been in the Hampton family for over 100 years. The original homestead was built in the early 1900's. The Hideaway was built by second generation Hamptons in the 1940's, with the most recent remodel in 2011. Greg and JoAnn are 3rd generation Hamptons and built their home on the hill over looking the orchards.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
Before Greg and JoAnn moved back to Wenatchee, they would visit his Mom who lived in what we now call the Hampton Hideaway. It was always a pleasure to watch the sunrise from the living room. Our children loved having cinnamon toast with Grammie Hampton while the sun came up.
