Come and enjoy our cabin in the North Georgia Mountains. How do you prefer to relax? Sit on the back deck and listen to the creek below while watching the wild deer, or would you rather wait until later in the day and get into the bubbling hot tub and sip on your favorite beverage while relaxing looking up at the stars.
For the active members in your group you can also go fishing, tube down the Cartecay or Toccoa rivers, hike, ride horses or swim in the Olympic size pool in the Walnut Mountain resort. For the shoppers there are lots of antique shops or for the wine connoisseurs you can always drive the Georgia wine highway and tour as many as you wish.
If your up to it you can go relive a little of the past and go to the drive in theater in Blue Ridge. You can find as much or as little as you want to do on your very special North Georgia Mountain vacation.
Celebrate your special occasion or just get away from the city for a while. Get away with friends and split the cost of a great weekend. This cabin is perfect for two couples since the bedrooms both with queen beds, have private baths separated by the living room/kitchen area. The cabin is rustic but upscale and comfortable. All the furnishings were new as of 2003.
Newly built in 2002. Cranbeary is located on a paved road easily accessible by any type of vehicle. We are located just five-and-one-half miles from the center of Ellijay. Walnut Mountain is located on the edge of the Rich Mountain wilderness area. There are three stocked lakes on the property one of which is one-tenth of a mile from the cabin.
Turniptown Creek (made famous by President Jimmy Carter) also runs through the area and guests have fishing access to that as well. Hiking trails are located in the resort also. Come spend a weekend or a week at Walnut Mountain, you will not want to leave!

We had a great time. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting on the deck. We tubbed the Toccoa River and ate at the Riverside Restaurant. We went to Desota Falls and Brasstown Bald. We also panned for gold in Dalonega. We went to the underground gold mine and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay!

We really needed a peaceful place to get away and we found it at Cranbeary!! You have thought of everything. Most of all we loved the meals we had on the back porch. We'll have to come back in the summer when the pool is open. The soak in the hot tub after escaping Atlanta was the beginning of a very enjoyable stay!
