The Mango Shack boasts its North Shore location, location, location! Further north 20 minutes is the land called Hanalei, just beyond Kilauea and Princeville and south 15 minutes is the bustling island town of Kapaa where you will find specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, and grocery stores. Wherever the surf or island attraction takes you, access is convenient from your rural and private setting. The Mango Shack is built to let in the tradewinds. It sits under a mamma mango tree which drops in July (warning for light sleepers). This shack sports all the charm an Island Surf Shack is supposed to, screened for mosquitoes (without glass), and screened for privacy with haleconia, and banana trees. The small restroom leads to the outdoor heated shower - amazingly simple, yet fully equipped for your comfort - it is a Blue Lagoon-type dwelling - romantic and rustic. The main room has a queen-size bed (studio-style) and a convenient kitchenette equipped with dishes and utensils. There are eating areas inside and outside. The bedroom offers two full-size beds. The decor is bright and cheery in an island motif. The Mango Shack is nestled in Moloaa Valley which means there is no need to go anywhere. Wake up to a chorus of jungle birds, and pick a papaya for breakfast! Go for a morning jog on the country road and see almost no one. Take a short hike up to Moloaa Sunrise Fruit stand for gourmet Kauai coffees and fresh tropical smoothies to sip on the lanai. Or stroll three-quarter mile towards the ocean and let the paved road lead you through the tropical jungle to the scenic splendor found at Moloaa Bay, deemed "Paradise Found" by the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. Often the beach is all yours. Succumb to the clear inviting waters and float on your back until your mainland troubles drift away. Moloaa Beach faces east - bring a chair and a loved one to welcome the sunrise. (By car, you can do all this within 3 minutes from your shack....) You will get-away from it all here.
