This is the largest ski-in/ski-out residence on Northstar mountain with direct access (weather permitting) to the main ski area. The unique mid-mountain location provides direct ski access without the noise and congestion of the Village. At nearly 4,000 sq.ft., the residence can accommodate up to 12 comfortably.
When considering which mountain in Lake Tahoe, Northstar provides the most luxurious setting with a newly developed village and the Ritz Carlton. The mountain is incredibly well groomed with vast amounts of tree skiing. Northstar's location is also sheltered from heavy winds and cold frequent at nearby resorts like Squaw and Heavenly. Northstar is the perfect choice for luxury and family skiing. Squaw is just 30 minutes away for the more adventurous.

The luxury ski residence is located on northstar at mid-mountain among the ski runs 500 ft. above the village. Be the first to ski in the morning before the lifts run by skiing down Homerun ski trail just steps from the front door. At the bottom of Homerun is the village with a Starbucks, shops, restaurants, and entertainment including an ice rink and movie theater.
With a short gondola ride back up to mid-mountain from the Village, there is the Ritz Carlton and the main ski area with over 3,000 acres, 97 runs and 2,280 ft. Of vertical. There are four lodges with food service on mountain including; Big Springs, Shaffer's Camp (private access), Zephyr Lodge and the Ritz Carlton.

It's not often you find a property that exceeds your expectations and the vrbo description. This home definitely fits that category. It felt like the best of both worlds, we were steps away from the Ritz Carlton and ski slopes, but on a quiet street with plenty of space to relax. The kitchen was stocked with great cookware and accessories, yet we had wonderful restaurants easily accessible at the hotel close by, down in Northstar Village (great shopping there too) or in Truckee if we wanted to eat out. We've only stayed in the winter, though can imagine it would be a great summer rental as well. Being so close to Northstar was extremely convenient, and made multiple ski drop offs and pick ups a breeze. We really liked the kids bedroom/game room downstairs, what a great use of the space! The whole layout is very accommodating for large groups, while still giving some privacy. Consistent with the vrbo photographs and descriptions, the home is beautifully furnished and spotlessly kept up... such a pleasant surprise to walk in and find everything to be even better in person! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners were completely helpful in answering questions, responded in a timely manner and made us feel welcome (they even left s'mores makings in the cupboard). It's the best vrbo experience we've had, and has definitely raised the bar on our expectations for future rentals!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
