In complete privacy on the slopes of Mauna Kea, this immaculate cottage offers the ideal headquarters for those who want either total relaxation or have a yen for exploration. Our area is known for its air, cleaned by the trade winds.

It is located midway between the two major towns of Hilo and Kona, at 2700 hundred feet ( the ideal European spa temperate elevation) on three wooded acres with a view of the mountain. Volcano National Park, with active Pu'u O'o volcano, waterfalls, beaches, and ancient historical sites of the Island are within easy reach.

Providing total comfort, the front part of the cottage, which has a walker /wheelchair ramp, contains the living room with cathedral ceiling and dining area, plus master bedroom with king-size bed, full kitchen and bath. The back studio has a separate private entrance, window seat, twin beds ,small fridge, and full bath.

Drive 12 miles through famous Parker Ranch country to Waimea town with its many fine restaurants, then 15 minutes downhill to the top rated beaches in the Islands. Picturesque Honokaa is 4 miles away, en route to fabulous Waipio Valley. Skandia Cottage is the perfect location for those wishing to explore the Big Island.
