Our stunning, elegant 7 BR beach block Victorian (the “Main House”) sleeps 20 (or up to 41 with rental of 3 adjacent units) with terrific ocean views, modern amenities including central air, secured WIFI & 32 inch flat screen hdtv! We are located at 815 Fifth St., directly across from the OC high school. In our 5 years as owners, we have hosted numerous family reunions, weddings, civil unions, retreats, leadership events, lots of birthday parties & many friends’, couples’ & girls’ weekends. Our guests are always delighted with the condition of our home, the furnishings, & the many “extras” we provide. While you might find other large homes in OC, not one comes close to ours. Includes 10 beach tags, a gas grill, 2 parking spaces & 2 fully enclosed `outside` showers with dressing rooms. We invite you to visit; you'll love it!
Take a step back in time as you relax in our lovingly restored & completely renovated home, furnished with beautiful antiques in every room & lovely decorations. Built circa 1915, you won’t believe the condition of the wide plank hardwood floors, carved oak staircase with an original stained glass window on the landing, elaborate antique oak fireplace with a two-tiered mantle, gorgeous mahogany bar, pocket oak doors, wide trim, & arched doorways. The kitchen has been entirely renovated with new cabinets & top of the line upgrades including Corian counters & a Miele dishwasher. Every bathroom was replaced in the last 5 to 10 years & further updated in the past 3 years; all are in mint condition. Most of our home has been repainted, & the remaining rooms will be repainted this winter.
Enjoy wonderful ocean breezes on our lovely, wicker furnished, wrap around deck with pretty hanging baskets. From the breezy deck, enter into a spacious foyer & note the beautiful antiques & oak staircase leading to the 7 bedrooms on the upper floors. Entertain in the elegant antique furnished living room with ocean views, enjoy drinks at the rich mahogany bar with the ambiance of a European tavern, or watch tv on a 32 inch flat-screen in our cozy family room with leather sofas adjacent to a beautiful full bath. Enjoy meals for up to 24 in the kitchen & adjacent tavern-like area, or up to 40 with the use of the living room & family room. If renting our adjacent units, you may prefer our fully enclosed courtyard, reminiscent of a French Café, with seating for 40 at freshly painted white wrought iron tables & chairs with lots of pretty flowers, beautiful hanging baskets, a garden, fountain & tiny white lights.
The bedrooms in our home are furnished as you would find in an upscale “bed & breakfast” & provide the perfect place for rest & relaxation at the end of a busy day! The 2nd floor has 4 gorgeous bedrooms all with beautiful antique dressers, televisions (1 with cable, 2 with attached dvd players, 1 with attached vcr), 1 has a queen bed, 2 have double beds, one has a double bed & a single daybed, & all 4 have quaint individual sinks. Two rooms have ocean views; 3 have views of the giant ferris wheel, beautifully lit at night! The charming full bath has been completely updated & has an antique "Second Class" cruise-liner medicine cabinet - allegedly a former owner was a ship captain! The third floor has 3 more bedrooms, all with cable tv. The entire third floor will be repainted this winter & will be gorgeous! The 1st bedroom is decorated in a patriotic theme & has a set of bunk beds, a single bed, a queen futon & antique dressers. The 2nd bedroom, aka the butterfly bedroom, has 2 double beds, a dresser & a large closet. The luxurious master suite has a queen bed, a stained glass ceiling fan, a 2ND sink, tv/dvd, lovely antique dressers & vanity, & views of the ocean & giant ferris wheel. Imagine waking up to a spectacular view of the ocean every morning! The fabulous, private master bath has a beautiful new tiled shower & pedestal sink, & an over-sized jacuzzi - perfect for two!
ADDITIONAL UNITS: Condo A is a 4 BR, 1.5 bath “handicap friendly” condo that sleeps 12. The BRAND NEW full bath will have a roll-in shower, comfort-height toilet with grab bars, & antique vanity. The BRAND NEW kitchen will have a new refrigerator, glass-top stove & multi-function dishwasher, plus a circa 1898 wrought iron & oak ice cream parlor set. The “new” tavern style dining room, adjacent to the kitchen, has an exposed brick wall showcasing an antique pine fireplace mantle, a rectangular, antique ball & claw foot oak table, 8 ladder-back chairs & an antique oak sideboard. The kitchen, bath & dining room all have new tile floors & will be freshly painted. The remainder of the unit will be repainted with new carpet by June 26, 2010. Condo B is a renovated 2 BR, 1.5 bath unit that sleeps 5. Condo C is an efficiency with a full bath & a kitchenette that sleeps 4. In addition to the rental amount, a fully refundable security deposit of $500 is required to reserve. 2 night minimum, unless stated otherwise. Additional nights are half off. - No Pets Allowed: Sorry! We love our pets (one dog and 4 cats), but many renters are allergic so we unfortunatley can't accept pets.
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): We have a first floor, partially handicap accessible unit with new roll in tub available for 2010. This is a 5 bedroom, 1.5 bath, first floor (street level) unit located under the three story Victorian (listing #61524). Call for further info.
- Kid Friendly: Although the home is beautifully furnished with antiques, the more expensive decorations are removed for summer rentals. All of the furnishings remain as seen. Families with small children ALWAYS rent our home and find it to be child-friendly. We provide two gates for the stairs, a travel crib, and a high chair for your use.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Please call for group rentals under the age of 25!

My name is Sue and I have 4 children, ages 13 to 20. My partner, Polly, is a paralegal for Tyco & is pursuing her Master's. We live in PA, but will most likely move to OC when my youngest graduates from high school. In addition to being a mom, I am an attorney licensed in PA & NJ, with a small practice in estate planning and administration. I am an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Studies Program at Villanova University and love teaching! Last but not least, I manage our beautiful, four unit, 16 bedroom home. Polly & I (especially me) are avid antique collectors & one of my greatest joys is collecting & decorating. We spend our "free time" browsing antique stores, consignment shops & garage sales. I just love the thrill of finding the perfect piece for the perfect spot & am constantly redecorating.
Our latest project is the renovation of Condo A - a 4 BR unit beneath the main house, which is featured on the vrbo site. We are SO excited about this project! By New Year's, Condo A will have a brand new "handicap friendly" bathroom with a roll-in tiled shower, tile floor & antique vanity. The new kitchen will have all new appliances, base cabinets, counters, sink, faucet, a stunning tile floor & a “new” circa 1898 wrought iron & oak ice cream parlor set. The dining room will very closely resemble a turn-of-the-century tavern with an exposed brick wall, a rectangular, oak ball & claw foot table with 8 ladder-back chairs, & a fabulous oak sideboard. We also located an old pine mantle that we hope to place on the brick wall! It will be an amazing place to enjoy meals or play games! It will be ideal for people throwing large parties to set up the food inside for celebrations in our fabulous courtyard!
Why the Owner Chose Ocean City
I purchased this home (a four unit, real "fixer-upper") 5 years ago because I adore old homes, love to shop for antiques, & enjoy decorating. I hoped for it to be both an investment & a wonderful place for my children & their future families to vacation. Ocean City is a safe, family-friendly "dry" town with so much to do. The kids can walk anywhere! Don't worry, you may bring alcohol into the house, it just is not served in OC. In the last 5 years, we have installed all "new" light fixtures - many are antiques, completely renovated the bathrooms, painted the interior in historic colors, and completely overhauled the exterior, added a lovely courtyard, and renovated the other units so it is now a stunning Victorian beauty. A recent guest told me "the spirits are happy now".... Yes, some people say our house is haunted, but don't worry, she is a very friendly Victorian lady. I had the most fun furnishing and decorating the main house, every antique lovingly chosen for its exact location in our home. In no way does our home resemble a rental property. Most people can't believe we rent it, but we love to share our home with guests who appreciate our hard work, who can share the love we have for our home, & look forward to returning year after year to see what changes we have made. And of course, there is the nagging issue of the mortgage....

This is a review that was submitted about our home to a partner website: My friends and I spent the last two New Years Eve weekends at the house, and it's a very nice place to stay. There's lots of rooms, so people can be together, or have privacy if that's what they prefer. Everything is clean and well-maintained. We actually rent 2 of the condos as well as the main house, and the extra kitchens come in very handy. It's close (within one block) to the boardwalk, where they serve the best french fries in the world, and walking along the beach is lovely any time of year. The landlords are gracious and friendly, and the house is exactly as they describe.

The entire house was comfortable and made us feel that we were "home." Great location with easy access to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants and shopping.
