Jerome's condo on rue du clairvaux, Paris

My sister-in-law and I just returned from Paris and we had a lovely stay at Jerome's condo. The condo is as described on VRBO. The beds and linens were very comfortable and clean. Everything you will need is supplied in the condo. The location is terrific. Ten minute walk to Notre Dame, lots of restaurants and shops surrounding the condo and the metro is merely minutes away. One complaint, the area is noisy, bring air plugs for sleeping and you won't hear a thing. We are going back to Paris next year and will definitely rent this condo. I have rented other condos in Paris, but this one is the one I'll rent again. Thanks again Jerome.

Great Location-No Privacy

Just wanted to say thanks for your help we had a great time in Paris. Overall the apartment was good. I must say we were dissapointed to find out that the two rooms were really just one big room with a thin divider. And to be perfectly honest the little repairs that need to be done like the paint, the hole under the bath, the closet doors, and a few other things were a bit distracting, and the whole apartment could really use a thorough cleaning. But the neighborhood was great, and we look forward to our next visit to Paris. Had we not been travelling with my parents, and already been with them for 5 weeks, the rooms may not have been so bad, but we were really looking forward to some privacy so when we saw the rooms we were really surprised. In fact I think it's kind of hard to even call it a two bedroom apt. But thanks for your tips and organization.

My wife and two kids (age 14 and 9) stayed here for 5 nights during June 2011. We loved the location - there is so much that is within walking distance and it's close to a couple of Metro stations as well. The apartment is relatively quiet considering its location in the middle of a big, noisy city. If you are going to stay here, there are a few minor downsides to consider. (1) The apartment is small and does not offer much privacy if you are using both of the two bedrooms because the wall that separates the two bedrooms is very thin. (2) The apartment is aging a bit and could use some detail work to make the place feel more well-maintained. For example, there is some paint chipping, some mildew stains around the bathtub, missing hardware to cover some duct-work in the bathroom, etc. (3) One of the burners on the stove caused the circuit breaker to trigger whenever it was used for more than a couple of minutes, shutting down the electricity to the whole apartment. (The switch to turn it back on is inside the apartment.) Nevertheless, we had a great time in Paris and found this to be a comfortable place to relax between our various activities. The homeowner is very friendly and provides guests with a lot of recommendations for nearby bakeries, restaurants, groceries, etc. Coffee drinkers will be happy to learn that there is a gourmet roaster - LapeyRonie - on the ground level of the building.

Sorry again for the small problems you gad , and as I told you I had a leak from the apartment above so the painting in the bathroom was not perfect , I had to wait everything is completely dry to make it new ;-) it is now fixed and painting is new. Hope you will be happy to stay with me again ;-) I hope all recommendations and special addresses I gave you where helpful ;-) I try always to give nice typical parisian address and not touristic places to help people discover a different Paris. A great stay in a great spot

This apartment was perfect for my parents and I to explore Paris. The Marais is a great district just behind the Pompidou Centre and many of the main sights are walkable - Notre, Dame, The Louvre, the Tuileries. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see Paris by living the Parisian way instead of staying in a hotel as a tourist.

Sorry, Jerome, to take so long to let you know we had a great stay in your apartment. The neighborhood is fun, there are many shops for food or for take-out, and the apartment was a welcome haven after days filled with sightseeing. I'd definitely recommend this apartment! Stephanie (USA)

Bonjour Jerome Thank you so very much for making my first visit to Paris such a wonderful experience. First of all it was such a pleasure working with you and VRBO. ( This was my first time renting instead of a hotel stay.) You responded quickly to every question I had and were there to greet me upon arrival. The apartment was exactly as pictured and described that I felt comfortable from the first day. Your suggestions on sightseeing, restaurants, cafes, markets and transportation was very helpful and you had maps and guide books that covered everything that I needed to know or find. The location was in, what I found to be, the most desireable area of Paris. I walked to the markets and museums and neighborhoods across the bridges and along the river. I enjoyed my late afternoons having coffee in a cafe across from the Beaubourg Center, that was literally your backyard. You had everything so well organized for guests that I never had to contact you for any assistance whatsoever. Again thank you Jerome for making a San Franciscan feel right at home in the Marais district of Paris. Jo
