La Paloma is a large residence on the edge of the medieval village of Arles sur Tech in the Languedoc region of South West France.
In 1956 local chiropractor, Mr Boix and his dentist wife chose this prime site on an old vineyard with views over the picturesque village to create a villa to live in and a separate suite of rooms for them to practice in.
When we bought La Paloma in 2003 we converted the practice rooms into a separate apartment, installed a swimming pool and created extra terraces. La Paloma can be rented as a House to sleep 12 or a Villa to sleep 6.

La Paloma is the ideal venue for a family reunion, celebrations or two family holidays. The two-story layout of the property lends itself to large gatherings. In addition to sleeping 12 people in the bedrooms there are three sofa beds to accommodate a further 6 people. With two kitchens, three bathrooms and three reception rooms there is plenty of room for party members to find their own space.
If your party is smaller you can rent just the villa section for 6 people.
The various outside terraces and seating areas mean that you can be together when you want to and can separate into smaller groups when required. In the evenings party members can find their own favourite spots to group together and enjoy a quite drink and meal or to play music and chat the night away.
One of the most important reasons for us buying a house in France was our love of food and wine. The main kitchen at La Paloma usually becomes the main gathering place when we are there with friends and family. The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons and some interesting traditional French features. It has a table that will comfortably sit eight people, an American fridge with ice maker and modern gas cooker along with all the utensils and equipment required for the most ambitious cook.
A small library of cookbooks includes books from Elizabeth David though to Rick Stein should you be stuck for inspiration. Coll Frers, the village butcher has a fabulous selection of meat, poultry, and charcutery and the local Spar has fresh supplies of vegetables each day. La Paloma House consists of La Paloma Villa and La Paloma Apartment and can be rented throughout the year. La Paloma Villa can be rented anytime apart from July and August. See tab at top of page to rent La Paloma Villa. The house is perfect for large parties, family reunions and two family holidays. The villa section provides the main accommodation, reception rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and three bedrooms with beds for six. The self-contained apartment has its own front door, kitchen, lounge diner, shower room and two further bedrooms with beds for six. When at La Paloma with a large party we tend to consign the youngsters to the apartment. This leaves us to enjoy the peace and quite afforded by the villa with its large terraces and fantastic views. The youngsters meanwhile can enjoy themselves; close enough to be safe and far away enough to feel independent. Meal times are always the highlight of the day at La Paloma. There are several terraces to choose from for lunch providing shade or sun as required. As dinner time approaches party members drift back from the activities of the day and congregate in the large kitchen to share stories and help prepare the meal over a glass of local wine.

A good possibility for families with children. Good property with excellent pool. Charming town and good possibilities for excursions in the Pyrenees.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

i have spent some amazing holidays at the house and throughly enjoyed every minuit of it. it has an amazing view from the balcony and is so hard to believe its only 2 hours away from london. with enough space to sleep family and friends! with the amazing french weather , swimming pool and the beautiful sceanery and food what more could you want!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great stay last year. The accommodation is well laid out and comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. The patio/balcony areas are perfect for al fresco meals, with lovely views of the hills. There is no TV which was great, we played lots of games and read stacks. There were shops within walking distance that provided everything we needed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.
