The landlady of 'La Maison sur le Quai' welcomes you in 'Un Bateau sous mon Transat', old fishermen's house located directly on the sea front in Port-en-Bessin, Normandy, on the landing beaches. In this stylish gite with charm, design and exceptional sea views, you will enjoy the sea view through the windows, from your bed and even from the shower, and the coming and going of the boats at high tide. At low tide, you can lounge on the sand in the outer harbour, at the foot of the house. Complete renovation in 2011-12, antique furniture and antique sailors’ objects mix with raw materials. New equipment and high degree of comfort. Quiet location. 2 steps away, direct sale from anglers every morning, close to all shops and restaurants, parking in front of the house, free garage and parking nearby. Ideal for 2 couples or a family with up to 5 people: 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 triple), office, 3 bathrooms, table football. No pets.
In Normandy, in the Calvados, in the heart of the landing beaches, 10 km away from Arromanches, Bayeux and Omaha Beach (American cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer), in a traditional fishing harbour and marina, genuine and preserved. Port-en-Bessin is particularly known for its Scallop fishing. The Bessin is a very nice region with a great historical richness (Bayeux's tapestry and Cathedral, manor-farms, castles, gardens, abbeys, landing beaches and museums, etc.). Beautiful countryside landscapes and Norman marshlands. On both sides of Port-en-Bessin, the coast allows nice walks along its long sand beaches and seaside resorts from the beginning of the century. The cultural centre of Port-en-Bessin regularly organises visits: auction, boat workshops and semaphore. Many sports...including Omaha Beach golf course on site, hikes, coastal path walks, fishing, walks on the old rigging, etc. 1h30 from the Mont Saint Michel, We fall in love with Honfleur, Deauville, Pays d'Auge, the Cotentin...

A fantastic house in a sweet village so close to the ocean, its music and its smell! The house is beautifully decorated with touch of the past along with top moder amenities. All was tight and clean and Laurence, the owner, was lovely and very helpful. I obviously will recommend the place to all my friends and next time in Normandy, I will certainely go back inspite the inconvinience of too much stairs... The location is fantastic for trips to the whole area, from Honfleur in the the north to St. Malo and Cancal in the south-west. But you need a car for it. We used to buy fish and fruit de mer in the dailly fishermen narket just across the quai and enjoy cooking and eating them in the comfortable kitchen in the house. Don't miss it - it's a real gem!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had an absolutely terrific time at Un Bateau sous mon Transat. First, on arriving, we met Laurence at the cottage and she was kind, welcoming and full of useful information about the area. Second, the cottage itself exceeded our expectations in every way. The view was spectacular, the town was utterly charming and quiet away from the tourist hordes yet convenient to all the sites, and the interior decorating was so professionally done we were almost reluctant to bring in our bags to disrupt it. Every room in the cottage was beautifully done yet not overdone, It is perfect for romantic retreat for a couple, and just as great for a family vacation spot. The tide change was amazing, and our kids loved walking on the exposed ocean floor at low tide. It was hard to leave and we'll be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The freshly renovated building is created by a lovely owner, Laurence, who is the most helpful and welcoming person. We felt home from the moment we stepped in the house. For writing and for relaxation, for holiday and for inspiring encounters with the sea and the rolling waves - it is a pefect place in all means. The decoration is beautiful and the equipment is more than one has in its own household - perfect as well. There is nothing to complain, it is just the right place to be.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Did you find this review helpful? A conseiller d'urgence!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wie würden gerne wiederkommen :-)...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
