For the Fishermen:
"I tell everybody they've got some special lakes in California and in Texas, but when this lake (Lake Marion) is right, it takes a back seat to no other," said North Carolina pro Marty Stone.
Until Sunday April 2nd, 2006 only three anglers ever weighed in more than 100 pounds, but five more joined the Century Club in the Santee Cooper Showdown on Lake Marion.
"It's hard when you go by a seven-pounder and say, 'That one won't help.' I was passing those up because I needed the "big" fish."
-Preston Clark after his 4 day record setting performance of 115 pounds, 15 ounces in the 2006 Santee Cooper Showdown on Lake Marion.

Laid back and relaxing!

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and laid back place for a week or two or even for a weekend. If you have a boat to it makes it even better. My brother, 2 friends and myself went for a fishing-getaway weekend and none of wanted to leave! The house is very nice and comfortable with all the amenities anyone would need. When we weren't on the boat or sleeping, we spent the remainder of the time on the screened in porch - just because it's so quiet and nice to be outside and enjoying the peace and quiet. It was so nice having a deck right out your back yard to leave your boat and hop on when you're ready to go again. The house has ceiling fans in all the rooms and beds slept great. Satellite TV which the guys liked. We are definitely renting this little spot of paradise on another trip to Santee. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. The place was just as the listing stated and the owner was very accomodating and helpful. The whole place was clean and neatly decorated. Several places to eat, however we cooked out on the grill mostly. Again, I would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Had a great weekend at this lake house!!! The house is cozy, clean, quiet, and comfortable! Small beach area where children could play and swim. Dock on water where fish were caught every am and pm! Great screened in back porch to just sit back and take in the lake view! We hope to come back again! GG (the owner) was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Thanks GG!

This home is very nice and the location is great. Everything was as the owner said. We were right on the lake with a lighted private dock. The boat ramp is not far from this location. Fishing was awesome. My daughter caught a 35lb catfish and over the weekend we caught over a 110lb of fish. This home is very spacious and the fireplace was nice on the cooler nights.

We spent a week in this nice house with our kids and grandkids. It was wonderful. Our host was very gracious and saw to it that it met our expectations and then some. We would go back for sure.

WOW!! What an amazing vacation place...Our family took advantage of the time on the lake with fishing, tubing and boating. We also enjoyed the challenging bike trial at Santee State Park. The house was PERFECT... Clean and the owner was so friendly & resourceful.... Be sure to visit Scarbough's on the lake along with the Sports Bar in Wyboo.... Great food & service.
