"CASA COLORES" is located in the The OTERO-by-the-Plaza Compound. The Compound is just three blocks (a five minute stroll) to the Plaza and five blocks to art-studded Canyon Road. It nestles into the wooded knoll that overlooks the historic Santa Fe Plaza. Aside from its easy accessibility to all Santa Fe has to offer, the Compound's great appeal is its 2000 sq' sense of space, its feast of rich and delightful colors, its quiet privacy, its safe residential neighborhood, and its flexibility in accommodating 1 to 16 guests (or up to 42 guests in conjunction with adjoining homes). This 3/4 acre haven adjoins the Old Fort Marcy Park with its 360-degree ring-of-mountain-views & breathtaking sunsets. Just beyond is National Forest.
Otero is at once country and downtown; the ideal location!

Sale! 245/Ni Jan-Feb--Country Haven : : 3 Blocks to Plaza
Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Historical Downtown
Years ago we hand-built a now somewhat-celebrated, environmental strawbale home in the Jemez Mountains above Santa Fe. Ten years ago we decided to purchase a in-town pied a'terre--just a small gem-of-a-place in which we could overnight during shopping trips in Santa Fe. Wanting to get the right place in the right location, we engaged in an eight month exhaustive search and ended up purchasing--not one--but two adobe homes in this historic neighborhood just 3 blocks from the Plaza. They became our first guest homes. Now, in addition to living in this same neighborhood, we manage 8 other guesthomes in the same residential block. Why are were we so seduced by this neighborhood? In short, it is partway up the ONLY knoll close to the Plaza. So from within any of our guesthomes, there is a constant sense of place: Our over-the-roof-top-views are of the historic Santa Fe Cathedral against a backdrop of mountain ranges and glorious sunsets. AND WITHIN 4-5 WALKING MINUTES WE ARE DOWNTOWN--RIGHT IN THE VERY HEART OF OLD SANTA FE! Here the glories of historic Santa Fe and our Southwest landscape are bundled into one. Our fascinating guests keep coming back and are now friends. We'll never move!

We had a fabulous stay. The color, light, art and artifacts were a constant source of interest. Noel's paintings are wonderful and decorate most of the rooms. If, by chance, Russ shares some of his stories, you will be enthralled. There book on where to go and what to eat was great. We had wonderful food as a result. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

My family and I rented Casa Colores, one of the Colorful Santa Fe group of homes. We totally enjoyed our stay. The home was decorated beautifully and uniquely, the kitchen was complete, and the neighborhood was quiet, even though we were in easy walking distance to the plaza. We'll definitely return!

Delightful spot, secluded and secure...close to the Plaza...and on the best side of town for us to head north to 10,000Waves, the Flea Market, Ghost Ranch or Bandolier NM. Beautiful home, compact yet spacious. Beautiful artwork, well appointed. Owners nearby, available but not hovering. Short walk to Fort Marcy Park to watch the sunset. We (three "girlfriends") would return without hesitation.

We have been to Santa Fe alot, but never stayed with you. What a wonderful place. Your front door opened to all the charm, colors and even the unique scent of Santa Fe. Smiles NEVER left our faces . . . even in the late spring snow. Yes, we will be back!
