UNOBSTRUCTED GULF FRONT VIEW IN PORTOFINO TOWER 3, OVERLOOKING SANTA ROSA ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE!
Indulge yourself in paradise! Wake up to unobstructed views of the sunrise over the ocean, dolphins cruising the shoreline, and the sound of the surf.

Portofino Resort is referred to as the Crown Jewel of Santa Rosa Island for good reason. It is the largest development on the island, and the last one heading east, with eight miles of undeveloped Gulf Island National Seashore after it. This 28-acre complex is a uniquely modern, Mediterranean design, state-of-the-art vacation heaven, with something for every one of all ages. Approximately 64% of the entire complex is dedicated to ecological habitat areas, with only 36% being used for buildings, roads, pools etc.

Our unit faces southeast, is closest to the beach out of the five towers, and the only thing you will see looking out the 40 feet of windows and deck is the Gulf of Mexico and Santa Rosa Island. Ten miles of spectacular breathtaking views of sugar-white sand beaches and seashore; no buildings, no high-rises, nothing to block your view. Just sea, sand and beautiful sunrises!

Each of the five towers in the Portofino Resort are at least 300ft away from each other, and offer their own large pool and hot tub, along with umbrella tables, chairs, and loungers for sunbathing, as well as Mens & Womens bathrooms next to the pool.

The $5,000,000, 40,000-square-foot Lifestyle Center has two outdoor infinity pools with two large hot tubs, and an Olympic-size indoor lap pool, as well as a large private indoor hot tub. It has separate men's and women's areas which each feature sauna and steam rooms, as well as private lockers and shower facilities complete with all toiletries. Upstairs there is a state-of-the-art work-out facility with free weights, Cybex weight machines, and True brand treadmills, elliptical machines, and bicycles. There is also a natural juice and snack bar, featuring Starbucks coffee. Each treadmill and bicycle has its own Flat screen TV with DVD player. There is also a special room with personal trainers available for classes such as Yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, spin classes, and many others. Water aerobics are taught in the indoor pool.

There are five, lighted, Rubico Hydro tennis courts on the property. The spa also offers message therapy, facials, and various body treatments.

When you get hungry there is the Terracotta (a fine dining restaurant) downstairs, as well as an outdoor grill restaurant by the pools, and an indoor and outdoor bar. Live music is often featured by the pools. The pool area is situated on the bay side, so you can walk out on the dock, or along the shore for eight miles of undeveloped, uninhabited beach, trees, rivers and lakes.

On both the gulf and the bay side at the complex are one- and two-person kayaks, water bikes, sailboats, surf and boogie boards for rent. Or you can rent a regular bike and ride the paved walk/bike path for miles. It does not get any better than this!

There is a 65-passenger catamaran that can take you to the boardwalk for shopping, or across the bay to the 36-hole Tiger Point golf course. Or, within a short drive from the complex, you can indulge yourself in every kind of activity possible, including Pensacola Naval Museum, which is home to the Blue Angels and boasts one of the largest, indoor, air and sea museums in the world, Indian Temple Mound, a Civil War-era complex called Fort Pickens (which once held Geronimo), the Gulfarium, a zoo, Five Flags Motor Speedway with miniature Indy Cars for rental, the Seville Quarter with various live music venues, cinemas, horseback riding, shopping, endless antique stores and restaurants, fishing (shore, dock, and charters), miniature golf, motor cycle rental, electric funny car rental, jet ski rental, etc.

The condominium unit is equipped with everything you need to make this home for your stay. This is a two-bedroom, two-and-one-half bath unit, with a king-size bed in the master suite, two separate closets, private Jacuzzi bath, separate shower, and toilet room. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed, and its own private full bath. Each bedroom and the salon has a direct view of the ocean, and a door to the 28-foot balcony, which has seating for four, two tables, a stainless steel electric grill, and a glass rail to allow un-obstructed viewing of the ocean and beach.

The main salon features a full leather couch with pull-out sleeper bed, a leather recliner, a swivel lounger, and a half bath. There is a six-disc DVD player, with a 32-inch flat screen TV in the salon, and each bedroom has its own TV with DVD player.
The unit has Wi-Fi as well as Ethernet internet access.
Movie rentals are available on site.

The maple cabinet, granite countertop kitchen is fully equipped for making a gourmet meal, and includes a large, side-by-side refrigerator, flat surface stove, convection oven, full-size microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and a full array of dishes and cookware. The teak dining room table seats eight, with an eight-foot snack bar with two stools. Full linens are provided and there is a washer and dryer in the unit. A grocery shopping service is also available.

You must be at least 25 years of age to rent. This is a no pet, no smoking rental unit, located 15 minutes from downtown Pensacola, and 25 minutes from the local airport, with taxi service available. Any questions you may have on the complex, services, or area can be answered by the front desk concierge.

Pensacola is the oldest settlement in the USA, with a very rich history as showcased by any of the fine museums in the area. Additionally, Fort Pickens (one of my favorite places to spend the day), a Civil War Fort located at the western end of our Island, which once housed Geronimo and his warriors is open for touring and exploring. Other local favorites on the Island are several Bars which have live music, including Paradise Bar & Grill, Captain Funs, etc. The Boardwalk houses many of these as well as shopping and restaurants. There is a FREE trolley service that runs from Portofino to the boardwalk area all day long, as well as Portofino's own 64 ft Catamaran available as a water taxi.

We are also the home of the Blue Angels! The base is open for tours, including Fort Barancas (another Civil War era fort) and a world class air/sea museum with Imax theater. The Pensacola downtown area has many fine restaurants, upscale stores, museums and parks to enjoy. A local favorite is Joe Patti's, which is the Gulf Coast's premier supplier of seafood and open to the public for business. Here you will find the largest and finest seafood selection available anywhere. They will steam your shrimp, lobster, crab legs etc. right there for you! There are also Malls, movies, Antique stores & specialty shops at your disposal. Golfing, scuba diving, surfing, para-sailing, jet skis, go carts, bicycle, motor scooter and golf cart rental, deep sea fishing, all here! No shortage of things to do for all ages and interests!

About the owner: A family of adventurers! Lovers of the ocean and clean white beaches! Health nuts who love the healthy benefits of living by the ocean and the contrast of traveling through the mountains of Colorado. It does not get better than this! Sipping coffee on the 29 ft deck in the morning while watching the dolphins. Falling to sleep with the sound of the ocean in our ears. Life is good at Portofino! We purchased our unit in 2004 after vacationing on Pensacola Beach for many years. We wanted to build memories in a place that our whole family would want to come back to year after year. We now enjoy it with our Grandchildren as well! They call Portofino 'the real Florida'. To us, this is what it is all about.

There are not many places where one can walk along a pristine beach such as this without seeing any people or buildings for miles, then, go the other way down the island and eat, drink and party with friends. This location has it all.
