We just completed a wonderful weeklong stay at this property, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment in this lovely home. Clearly a lot of thought and effort went into the layout of this home, and we really appreciated the design and decor - especially all the windows and natural light. The home actually looks better in person than in the photos - which doesn't happen very often! The great room with high ceiling was a great place to spend hours reading, etc. Tthe bedrooms each had a different feel - but each had a full bathroom. The master did not seem larger than the other bedrooms - but it adjoins the very cool screened in porch with multiple ceiling fans and great lighting. Unfortunatley, we had 100+ degree temperatures every day, so did not spend much time out there! We were surprised that the master only had a double bed - bedroom on other side of main floor seemed just as big and has a queen. Also, the master bed/bath had no window treatments (i.e., no privacy), but the lot is secluded, so we never really felt exposed. The lower level gathering room was great for the kids - great V-shaped sofa for watching movies, and a ping pong table that got plenty of use. The walk to the lake was not difficult. We did anchor our boat off shore a few times and waded off/ onto shore. Greer's Ferry generally does not permit private docks, and ones that exist cannot be rented. We rented a transient covered slip at Lacey's Marina for week ($20/day) - Lacey's is about 15 minute drive from the house. If you are bringing a boat, DO NOT plan to tow it to the house. The final road to the home is step, narrow and curvey, and you should not attempt to maneuver a trailer into the very steep driveway. The property between the house and the lake is heavily wooded, and as a result during the summer the view of the lake from the house is very limited. It's virtually impossible to see the house from the lake. I understand this is quite common with homes on shore at Greer's Ferry and should not be viewed as a negative about this property. The kitchen is a bit small, but nicely equipped (pleasantly surprised to find built-in Sub-zero refrigerator). Two grills - gas and charcoal - are provided, although the gas grill is an inexpensive model - cooks unevenly and I burned a few things on it! Everything we needed - other than food and toiletries - was provided. Also enjoyed use of garage to keep the car cool! House was clean and well-maintained - highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
