  • Breathtaking and peaceful experience

"We just finished a two-week vacation at Makere Cottage, celebrating 20 years of marriage. Wow, the entire two weeks was absolute perfection. The majority of our time was spent being mesmerized by the breathtaking view. Every day, I was reminded of this quote (by good ol’ Anonymous): “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Amen. We basically wore out a path between the deck, the couch (with the French doors open to the view), and the pool area…celebrating life’s moments – meals, meditation, happy hour, deep conversations, and just “being”. We loved everything about Makere – the beautiful deck, the air-conditioned bedroom, the cleanliness, the quiet and peacefulness, the proximity to Cane Garden Bay, the privacy, the stunning and majestic views, the landscaping and lush greenery and trees, the beautiful pool area, and the friendliness and hospitality of the owner and nearby property manager. We felt very loved, welcomed, and cared for and are beyond appreciative of every little detail that made up this unforgettable vacation. I am returning to life at home with a renewed sense of peace and enlightenment and cannot wait to share it with others. If you choose to stay at Makere, know that you will be richly blessed! Thank you, Tina & Adam. Thank you, Mobbsie. You will not be forgotten!"

  • OUTSTANDING!

"We stayed at the Makere House and Cottage as 3 couples for 5 nights. Everything was perfect from the location, to the gorgeous view, to the super clean rooms. We couldn't have asked for more. Mobbsie, the property manager, was so gracious and helpful during our stay...he made us feel right at home and made sure we were well taken care of. Definitely rent a Jeep Wrangler from Jerry's to tour around the island...the roads are like nothing you've ever experienced for sure. We hope to return someday!"

  • Most Excellent

"WOW, We have never, in all of our travels, have had a more gracious or congenial host as Mr. Dawson. Met us personally at the airport to cart us to our home for a few days. A very nice and comfortable place we loved it. The place is private and has all the things you need to be comfy. The semi private beach, we only saw about 4 people in three days, is only a few minutes walk from the Bungalow. Anyway we plan on returning and staying more than a few days next time."

  • Managers couldn't be nicer

"This a very artistic little property. It is right on the beach, the rocky part between Sebastian's main units and their newer units. It was easy to walk down to Apple Bay or Long Bay for beach or food. There was someone on sight that was so helpful and kind, they were very responsive to restocking missing supplies. The place had lots of cute little touches and you could tell that someone had really tried to provide all the little 'things' one ends up needing. There were plenty of towels, and the kitchen was very efficient given it's tiny size. We enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of surf every evening. I would not recommend it for families, or even romantic couples. It was a great surf shack, a place to crash your head at night after being out all day, but the downs were that is was quite dirty, most of the furniture was broken and in need of repair, and very rustic. I don't think it is worth the price we paid."
