  • Garden Cottage - 2 thumbs up

"I enjoyed staying in the Garden Cottage very much. It was so nice, private, and serene to come back to after my day's wanderings. It was perfect for sleeping with its comfy bed; the kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed; and the deck was perfect for sitting, eating, and doing my own yoga rituals when I wasn't doing it with you, Veronica, on your deck, and, I loved you and Brett, Nelson, Florence, and Goldie. It was very helpful and personal care...and, I hope I will see you all again."

  • Elegance and comfort

"We have been in Nevis in the second half of August, in a period of low season when the weather was not always sunny and some of the island's attractions were closed. We did not regret, however, to have spent most of our time at home, in the beautiful pool, or enjoying the breeze and the silence of this spacious villa, equipped with every comfort and tastefully decorated in colonial style. The owner Tamara and the property managers on site, Suzanne and Doreen, were always delicious and willing to help us organize our holidays in Nevis. We were romantically alone in the villa, but also suggest it to two couples or a family with children. The cable TV did not work, but we have not really missed it."

  • There is something magical about Butler's that I can't put into words, you just have to experience

"My husband and I stayed in Butler's House for over a week. We can not say enough wonderful things about this sanctuary where we could watch the monkeys play every evening by the pool, take walks to nearby hiking trails, and enjoying meals on the veranda overlooking the ocean. There is no air-conditioning, which was an early concern for me before we booked--as it turned out there was no concern for the lack of A/C. The elevation at Butlers allows for the beautiful ocean breezes to enter the home and it stays cool, even on hot days (I think A/C might even spoil the experience as renters may want to turn it on vs. enjoy the cool breezes). If you stay, ask Bernice to cook you some authentic West Indian meals, she's a wonderful cook. We spent countless hours in the pool--nets were provided to help keep the pool clean on the days it wasn't cleaned by someone. You can pick fresh fruit from the garden, including mangos and limes. Monkeys will play on the roof some mornings and are around the property--they provide ample entertainment and they are not intrusive in the least. Although the property is not located on a beach or next to resorts, everything is within a short driving distance (keep in mind that the most time any drive will take is about 20 - 25 minutes to the opposite end of the island) so most beaches and restaurants are within a 10 minute drive, so you will need a car. Butler's Village is great, Jimmy Buffet's famed Domino College is a short walk away. People wave to you everywhere you go, and Butler's Village I found particularly welcoming. It is not developed in any way, it is truly a quain caribbean village, which was perfect for us. If you're looking for a posh, slick type of atmosphere, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you prefer a true caribbean experience and want to completely unwind and relax, Butler's is for you. It is a comfortable home where you feel like you can curl up on the couch and lose yourself in a book, cook a gorgeous meal in the kitchen, or take a shower in the bathroom with the windows wide open, overlooking the garden and flowers and wildlife, the property is incredibly inviting, calming and private. You feel completely safe staying at Butlers as well as on the island of Nevis. There is something magical about this place that I can't put into words, you just have to experience it for yourself."

  • Inspiring view

"My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Serendipity. A wonderful choice for a getaway - lovely, well-appointed home and location. The views of the sunrise and sunset with St. Kitts framing the Caribbean cannot be topped! Nevis is a special place and Serendipity tops it off."

Nevis Travel Tips

Making Your Way to Nevis Vacation Rentals

Nevis is a small tropical island in the Caribbean. The island has only a small airport which receives regional flights. It is not equipped to handle major international flights. When traveling from North America or Europe, your best connection hubs will be San Juan on Puerto Rico, Antigua, St. Maarten or St. Kitts. All these hubs have regular regional flights to Nevis. If routing via St. Kitts, you also have the option of traveling by sea ferry. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes from port to port. Taxis provide transport on the islands from the airport to the ferry terminal.

Once on the island, if you want to do some independent exploring, you can hire a car for the duration of your stay. You will need to validate your driver's license at the local police station before you will be able to hire a car. The island also has privately run bus service which operates as the main form of public transport. Buses run between all the main towns during the day, with schedules operating less frequently at night.

Best Season to Visit Nevis Villas

As a tropical island paradise, Nevis enjoys a year-round warm climate. This means that even in what is considered to be the winter season, you can still catch a tan. In general, most visitors choose to travel in the milder dry season as the rain showers are less frequent and the humidity is much lower. The peak travel season is between December and April. The summer months are typically wetter with sometimes extreme levels of humidity. Tropical storms sometimes blow across the islands between the months of June and October. This is generally considered the low travel season. If you want to avoid the crowds but still enjoy some good weather, you may consider traveling in May or November.

Visitors to Nevis Resort Rentals

Nevis is one of the lesser-known Caribbean destinations. It is a vacation destination where you can enjoy the sunshine, a great island vibe and some wonderful natural attractions. The scuba diving on the island is legendary and attracts diving enthusiasts from all over the world. If you love shopping, you can spend your days at the many colorful markets and local art galleries. There are many sporting activities available on Nevis ranging from horseback riding to tennis, golf and hiking. It is one of those beautiful destinations where you can choose to be as active or as lazy as you like. It is the ideal destination for that romantic getaway or a perfect island honeymoon.

Things to See and Do from Your Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Nevis

If you would like to explore the island's cultural heritage, there are many historical landmarks and places of interest in the island. Just outside of Charlestown, you can see the ruins of the Hamilton Estate. This was once a flourishing sugar plantation. The ruins are covered with tropical foliage and their location provides great views over the city of Charlestown. The Museum of Nevis History is housed in a beautiful Georgian Building which was the birthplace of the Alexander Hamilton. The museum is housed on the first two floors of the building and from it, you can enjoy views of the Nevis harbor and beyond to the neighboring island of St. Kitts. The beaches in Nevis provide safe swimming areas and ideal sunbathing locations. Many have inshore reefs where you can swim out and enjoy some snorkeling. Pinney's Beach, Herbert's Beach and Cades Bay are known for their many beach bars and vibrant nightlife.
