  • Panama Bayfront Tower stay

"As experienced travelers, we cannot say enough positive things about our stay in this Bayfront condo with its panoramic view of the bay, old city, and Panama City modern skyline. Location: spectacular views form this corner, window clad condo (even from the bedroom), walking distance to most anything that you may need (many grocery stores nearby too), & quick access to the business district, canal, old city and other tourist attractions. The Condo: 24hr security, large space, tile and wood floors, nice balcony, spotlessly clean with all the amenities found in a modern state-side apt. Worth mentioning is there is no deposit required, and the cleaning fee is already included in the quoted rate. What’s also nice is that for late arrivals, the condo keys will be waiting for you at the reception. The owner: Margarita is an absolute sweetheart and was very accommodating. She speaks perfect English & her reliable driver (Carlos) can bring you back and forth from the airport if so desired (for a competitive fee). Overall: for 3 days or more, it makes little sense to get a hotel given the price, ease of rental and check-in, the large space, conveniences of home, spectacular views, location, amenities, and close proximity to shopping of any kind. Cons: I truly cannot think of any to mention other than the minor noise from the road below, though that said from the 19th floor it was not an issue for us whatsoever."

  • Oasis in a Jungle

"We spent a month this past June 2014 in Panama, and we stayed at El Rio Encantado. We arrived late in the afternoon and Frank, the owner, showed us the way to our cabin, which was cottage 2 where we stayed for the first two weeks, then we moved to cottage 3 for another two weeks and on our last day, we stayed at the guest house. There are 3 cottages, a Guest House, the owner's house and a beautiful tree house (Frank's pride) under construction, which when finished, will have a zip line to cross the river. All cottages were clean and well-equipped. The Guest House is the smallest of all the units. This property is located on the road to Caldera and the river of the same name runs through it. Frank did a good job turning Rio Encantado into a civilized jungle complete with electric gate at the entrance, private roads, lit up pathways and stairs, a big swimming pool and manicured gardens turning a rugged terrain of land, river, waterfall and swimming holes into a designer jungle. What is amazing is that depending on where you are within this property, you can experience different micro climates. Frank's house and the Guest House sit at the entrance of the property with a lookout overlooking his resort and the swimming pool below. The climate there is warm and dry as it is at the highest point in the property. The climate in cottage 2 is warm and humid as it sits half way down the valley and it is under a dense canopy of trees. Cottage 3 is all the way down on the river, the climate there is dry and fresh as the sun comes through the foliage together with a gentle breeze. We were lucky we got to stay in different cottages except for cottage 1 and experienced these subtle but different micro climates, all within walking distance of each other but far enough to allow for privacy. The place was an oasis after a busy day out in town. Frank invited us for dinner in various occasion; once for BBQ hamburgers, the meat was good but the bread was burned. Later on, we learned that he never cooks because he doesn't know how to. So we thank you Frank for trying. On our last day, Frank invited us for a wonderful three course dinner prepared by Pablo, who is Frank's personal chef. Frank and his staff ( Jose and Rebecca) are excellent hosts. We enjoyed our stay and their hospitality. We would definitely recommend Rio Encantado to our friends."

  • Lovely property

"This is a beautiful well maintained property with spacious accommodations .The house has a modern feel, and It was very nice having our own pool on those hot days or when we wanted to swim under the stars . We had almost no rain while we were here, and if it did rain, it was very short lived The owner Tamara was so helpful with arranging transportation from the Airport to the house and lot of info on things to do in the surrounding areas. (El Valle) We loved having access to the beach club which was a short ride from the house on the golf carts. They also have 24 hour security at all the gates entering into the golf course property. We would definetly stay here again if we visited Panama . 2 thumbs up!"

  • Best Vacay EVER!!!

"Bocas is the perfect place for a getaway! The town is vibrant and fun and has so many great restuarants and bars to choose from! We travelled there for 10 nights for our 5 year anniversary with another couple of our best friends. The house is in the perfect location - walking distance to absolutely everything in Bocas town! There is laundry just a couple doors down as well as bike rental places pretty much everywhere! And if you want to boat taxi somewhere they will pick you up and drop you off right in front of the house on the dock! Hot showers, comfortable beds, hot weather and a great price/night make this the ideal house to rent in Bocas! The house has absolutely everything you could possibly need and if there is something that you can't find in the house you can walk to the store and buy it! Booze was cheap! $4.50 for a six pack of beer or $22 for a 66oz of Bacardi Rum! Obviously we celebrated a little bit! We swam alot - dove off the platform and hung out in hammocks up there! The water is very calm and deep in front of the house - perfect for floating in or a quick dip when it's too hot! The outdoor shower was great to wash the salt off too! Daniel who is the chef at Pukalani hostel (amazingly beautiful hostel biking distance from the house) picked us up at the airport and took very good care of us at the house the entire time - anything we needed he helped us with! We also highly recommend that you eat at Pukalani if you can! The food we ate there was some of the best we had in all of Panama! If your looking for a place to stay in Bocas this is it! The pictures on VRBO totally don't do the house justice! We absolutely loved it here and would not hesitate for a second to book this house in Bocas again!"
