  • Perfect Location--We Will Be Back!!

"We are Americans living in Switzerland right now. We commonly rent apartments here in Europe when we travel because we have two children and two dogs. Most hotels here require families to rent two hotel rooms or a suite because quad rooms are not very common. In all our experiences with renting, this apartment was definitely one of the best. The criteria that we look for in a rental includes: accommodating our family(including the furry members), clean, safe neighborhood, walkable location to main tourist areas and a good value. I can honestly that this apartment met all of those needs! Then, as others have mentioned, there were many extra benefits that added to the convenience and value. Many times, we spend the first couple hours running out to get water, a bottle of wine, toilet paper, drinks for the kids, etc. However, here, all of that is provided--so we hit the ground running, and since we were just in for the weekend, we never had to waste any of our limited time running to the store. The whole rental process was uncomplicated, and Danny, the owner, provided excellent communication. Additionally, he refunded our security deposit the same day we checked out. Highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for an apartment with the same criteria as us!"

  • A Treat!

"This flat is a treat - great location, quiet, modern, comfortable, with lovely views from the terrace. Plenty of room for travellers who are sharing the space as both the bedrooms are large and en-suite, plus the washing machine makes travelling light easier. But the best part is the considerate helpfulness of the owners. If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity for dinner, be ready for the best risotto in Milan and wonderful company. Many thanks. Hope to see you in New Hampshire"

  • 5 stars in all categories

"My wife and I spent a week in this wonderful condo and we can report that it gets a five star rating in every category. Its location is adjacent to the main walking street, on top of a bakery and opposite a moderately-priced pizza restaurant. The grocery store is a block away and the main piazza is just another two blocks beyond that. Even the Stradivarius violin museum is within easy walking distance. So it is not necessary to rent a car to see all of the key sights in Cremona. The Due Colenne apartment is beautifully designed and newly constructed on two levels with a two story living room and adjoining dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious sleeping loft. There is every possible kind of household equipment except a clothes dryer. Italian custom is to dry clothes in the open air and fortunately there is a sheltered balcony outside the bedroom window where you can put the drying rack in a warm and sunny area. When we arrived the apartment was spotlessly clean and fully supplied with adequate towels and bedding. There is a modern central air conditioning system with a remote control that allows you to dial in exactly the temperature you want. (The 22 degree Celsius setting was just right for us.) A bit of a surprise for us was how much we fell in love with the town of Cremona. The local people treat each other like family. This starts with a warm "buon giorno" zat the Caffe Torino around the corner from the apartment (after the third morning, they treated us like family too). Then, during the day people congregate in groups on street corners, children play on the sidewalks and musicians practice their instruments. In the evening, friends congregate in the shadow of the Duomo sitting at little tables on the beautiful piazza eating tiny little sandwiches and sipping an orange drink called "aperol spriz". Virtually no one in Cremona speaks English, so this is the ideal place to learn Italian. You are forced to speak the few Italian words you know and the native population is delighted when you do this. Our only complaint with Cremona was that the local internet company had periodic service breakdowns. The wifi system within the apartment functioned well and we had a five bar level throughout the apartment, but the internet company that connected to the building became hopelessly sluggish during periods of high activity. We had to wait until late night or early morning to send and receive photos."

Milan Travel Tips

Visitors to Milan Vacation Rentals

Milan has a reputation as being one of the fashion capitals of the world. This relates not only to clothing fashion but also to shoes, furniture and home décor. Italian style is something that is known the world over. Their flair for design and style is emulated in many different countries around the world. Each year in season Milan attracts people from various industries that attend trade fairs and shows. Models, fashion designers, photographers and even just people with an interest in fashion and design frequently visit Milan. It is a major commercial city and attracts many business travelers throughout the year. In terms of tourism, the peak travel season coincides with the summer months. June and July can get quite crowded at the main city sights. Other good times of the year to travel are May, August and September.

Benefits of Staying in Milan Apartments

Milan is a bustling European city and a place of diverse interests and attractions. The best way to explore and experience the city is to linger a while, by moving away from the main tourist areas and simply observing the local way of life. One of the best ways to do this is to rent a vacation apartment in the city. Not only is it one of the more affordable accommodation options, it also provides a distinctly local perspective of the city. The apartments are typically stylishly furnished. Most often they are suitable for just two to four adults or smaller families. The living areas range from compact and cozy to spacious penthouse-style apartments. Kitchens are generally well equipped with the latest in modern appliances and conveniences. Many apartments are conveniently located near bus stops or public transportation systems so getting around the city is easy.

Milan Travel Attractions

Milan is home to the famous La Scala Opera Theatre. Attending an opera performance here is the highlight of any trip to Milan. Milan has many beautiful old buildings and cultural centers. The Duomo is believed to be the second largest cathedral in the world and houses one of the largest collections of marble statues. There are several other Basilicas in the city that are well worth visiting. The famous Leonardo da Vinci painting of the Last Supper can be seen in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. There are many art galleries that showcase both traditional and contemporary modern art.

Getting to Italy Vacation Rentals in Milan

Milan is served by three airports. The primary airport is Malpensa which hosts mainly international airlines on long-haul flights. The Malpensa International Airport is linked to the city of Milan by the Malpensa Express train as well as the Malpensa shuttle bus service. The secondary airport in Milan is used mostly for domestic and regional flights. A little further afield, approximately 45 kilometers from Milan, is a newer airport called Orio al Serio International Airport. This is one of Italy’s primary airports servicing low-cost European airlines. The airport is connected to Milan by a daily bus schedule that operates with more than 30 departures a day.

Milan is at the center of the rail network in northern Italy. It has good connections with other major cities such as Rome and Florence as well as other European destinations. There are high-speed intercity trains with daily connections to Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Spain and France. There is an extensive highway and road system in Milan but traffic, like in most major European cities, can be quite chaotic at times. If you need to use road transportation, it is recommended to make use of the buses or arrange a taxi for private point-to-point transfers.
