  • Great view and plenty of space...

"When we arrived at the home and opened the door we were wowed by the view. Being on a bluff makes such a difference. The rental property pictures did not show a photo to the left side, which was more industrial looking, with development in progress. We took most of our pictures facing the opposite direction, in such a way that you could not see the properties to the right of the patio. Two of the three patios of this second floor home, were spacious, especially the one off both the master bedroom/ dining area. We had most of our meals there. Having so many windows around the home made it feel so much larger. The fireplace was ok, but you have to know how to deal with the damper. The home had plenty of living area space. The kitchen had a blender, which was used frequently! There were no other renters on either side of us during our stay, which made for great privacy! Cathy was excellent. She went above and beyond, particularly with our transportation needs, to assist us. She answered any questions we had in a timely manner. She scheduled the birthday cake for the time we requested, and had the home decorated with roses, before we arrived. Truly a wonderful addition. (We would highly recommend this!) The sofa was super comfy and large. The directions to the home were clear and easy to understand, as well as the information provided for activities in the general area. (We would, however, advise looking into reviews of the restaurants in Puerto Nuevo, known for it's lobster). We recommend you stock up on groceries before you arrive, as it is a bit of a drive to locate a store from the rental. The reason we gave the home a 4 star rating , rather than five was due to several things. When we tried the garbage disposal, black gunk spurted out. (We did inform Cathy of this). We did not use it the rest of our stay, covering it with paper towels, due to the smell. The oven was very slow and when we did use it, baked unevenly. The kitchen could really use some updating. Cupboards, stove, counters... There were plenty of utensils and dishes to use. The floors were not as clean as they should have been. All of our feet were black not long after we walked around the home. The clothes washes was dirty, with caked on soap...needs a good cleaning. The beds were decorated nicely. The master was quite soft and we experienced back aches. We spent one night on the sofa. All in all this was a very nice place! Thank you for sharing your home!"

  • Beautiful Place!!!!!!

"I took my family to thus beautiful penthouse for my birthday and I can't explain how nice it was. I was a little skeptical at first because I had never used this site but I don't regret it. Owners and everyone I dealt with were amazingly easy going and all transactions were smooth. It's a whole floor for yourself and it had a great view. Nothing like going to a hotel, don't waste your money at any other place. This place is worth every penny I spent."

  • Super site!

"This house is fabulous. The living space is excellent, large and very comfortable. Bedrooms are wonderful and the kitchen is well-equipped. We loved our time here-- great views and an amazing deck. Best house ever, really. Our sole complaint was that the internet didn't reach throughout the whole house. Communication with the office prior to our stay was a bit erratic... We highly recommend this house and we love Las Gaviotas!"

  • Great Views

"Out group of 5 friends had a blast at this place. The owner is very responsive to emails and answers questions quickly. The place is clean and as it is described; a little on the 60's side (though one tip: the master bedroom is only separated from the living room by a screen, so... privacy-loving couples take note). The kitchen is good, we like to cook and had everything you could hope for at a vacation house. Also, if you are the type to be concerned about safety, this place has a direct line of sight to the guard booth, so I would guess it is one of the safer houses in the complex. And the patio is the best! Get some charcoal from White Horse across the street, and BBQ, drink, and watch the sunset - it's perfect. As far as I am concerned there are two main reasons to come down to Las Gaviotas - surf and tacos. Both were amazing. There is a taco place across the street; everyone who works there is so nice and the food is amazing. I ate there at least once a day. And there's a surf spot walking distance away... what more could you ask for?"
