  • Beautiful house in a great location

"My friends and I stayed for a week at Casa Allen and had a wonderful time. The house is beautifully designed and appointed, and I particularly like the bedrooms being on the ground floor and the living spaces upstairs. The bedrooms are so comfortable--each with its own bathroom---and the upstairs rooms and terraces are comfy with great views. The house is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants, including bougainvillea, palms and citrus trees, and is a lush, private, and quiet oasis. You definitely should stay at Casa Allen if you're coming to Loreto Bay. We walked every afternoon to the beach, where we kayaked and snorkeled. One day we rented a boat downtown to take us out to Coronado Island, where we snorkeled at the marine park, saw dolphins and sea lions, and lounged on a white sandy beach. Another day we drove to the old Spanish mission at San Xavier, which is at the end of a scenic drive up into the mountains west of town. There are good restaurants downtown and at Loreto Bay. You'll have a good time here."

  • Relaxing sanctuary

"We stayed at Sylvia's for about 12 days. It was lovely. The condo is modern and spacious and the pool is even nicer than shown in the photos. The compound feels very safe and protected - it is walled in. The beach is a short walk. We were surprised by how empty it was - some days we literally had miles of white sand beach to ourselves. We did like having a car to explore Cerritos Beach and San Pedrito, about a 10 minute drive. The town of Todos Santos is charming. We had great meals at Los Adobes and La Casita, and the Hacienda by Cerritos beach is perfect for a sunset cocktail. We also liked the beaches in La Paz. Awesome vacation (though I wish I'd been a little more careful and not tried to eat like a local at all the various taco stands). Sylvia's place is lovely and a fantastic value."

  • Perfect vacation home!

"We've been coming here for a couple years and just got around to posting our review on VRBO. The home and grounds are very well kept and pleasing to the eye. We felt very safe! The proximity to the beach made for frequent visits and we were able to assist with the turtle releases! The home and kitchen are very well stocked with everything you need. We were pleased with the bi-lingual property manager and housekeeper. We highly recommend this home for your next vacation. We will be returning yearly! Thank you for an awesome experience!"

  • Baja Beach Front Paradise!

"Carol, and her family make for wonderful hosts! They go out of their way to share their dream! We rented the bottom Casita with another couple and loved our stay. We paddled almost daily up and down the shore and never saw another soul, except for the local fishermen passing by! This is a true paradise, and the beach access here is second to none. Carol, arranged for a world class spear fishermen to meet us on the beach to go fishing. While the fishing was a bust, we drove up to Las Cruces, and over to Cervalo to swim with the Sea Lions. On our way over, Dolphins were literally swimming with the boat for at least 2 miles! He then took us to an amazing reef to snorkel. On our way back to the Casita, we saw Stingrays flying 5-6' in the air! The abundance of marine life here is out of this world. A trip, that I highly recommend is driving out to the light house, from there go to the abandoned hotel and snorkel the reef there! One of the best reef's I have ever seen. Not to mention we had the entire beach and reef to ourselves for the day! After, a long day of swimming we went to the Bay of Dreams and dined at 1535 restaurant! Food was outstanding and the view even better (they also take Credit Cards here). The Mini-supers here are well stocked and the restaurants are cheap and easy to get to. Carol, and her family's hospitality will be the reason we return! Next time we will bring the entire family!"

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
