"Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Houston's Hideaway...
Beautiful setting; very comfortable accommodations...already looking at schedules for a return trip. Wonderful get away, retreat from hustle/bustle of trappings of busy schedules, etc. you will not be disappointed!"

"This property is everything as advertised and more. The Gazebo provides a stunning view. The walk to the secret beach is beautiful, and upon arriving at the beach, it just gets better. House clean and spacious. If you are looking for an extremely secluded and beautiful escape, look no further."

"We had a wonderful long weekend at the lake house :) The property was just the right size for our large family! We truly enjoyed having the room to spread out! We have 4 children under 11, and the house was perfect for keeping them busy (and out of each other's hair from time to time). We spent most of our days cooking, fishing (even though it was truly too cold to catch much), and sitting outside enjoying the view. We spent our evenings around the fire pit - which our kids would argue was their favorite space of all! The owners have thought of everything - even down to the hangers left for you to make "cook" marshmallows.
We brought our Westie, too - and he had a BLAST! The first day, however, he did try to take a "short cut" down to the pier. He slipped off the side of the bluff and refused to swim to us as we begged him from the pier to come over. We eventually used the neighbor's pier to walk down closer to him...long story short - he was perfectly fine and had a FANTASTIC trip!
I would certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Smith Lake, and we hope to visit again this summer (with more more little one, due in January, with us next time :)"
