"We had a great time visiting smith lake. The house was very comfortable and had everything that you would need. We had two adults and three teenagers. We did have two double up or someone sleep on the couch, but that was their choice. The water and boathouse was one of the best attractions. No steep hill to climb! We had our English bulldogs with us and the totally enjoyed the enclose sunroom. The only complaint from the kids was that there was not a TV in their bedrooms, but I liked that because it made us all watch something together."

"This place is beyond gorgeous, it's absolutely breathtaking. We screamed with delight when we pulled up! Make sure you have detailed directions, as we had issues finding the house on the street (may want to have a little larger sign, especially hard if arriving in the dark). We had a group of 14 adults and were perfectly fine, if you're flexible. The swim platform is where we spent most of our time, enjoyed the grill for meals and the immaculate kitchen that had everything you could need. I agree with some comments about children, you'd have to watch them closely but otherwise was a perfect choice for a fun and relaxing weekend."

"Smith Lake Retreat was a perfect locale for our Girls Getaway during Labor Day weekend. The price was right and the location of the home was perfectly convenient to our friends' places near Big Bridge. Our group loved the decks and dock, and David was extremely helpful with the questions that we had. Thanks for a memorable time!"

"We enjoyed our getaway to this great lake house. It was just my husband and I but we would have plenty of room to bring the kids next time. The house was very clean (which is a big deal to me!) The kitchen seemed very well stocked although we personally didn't use much of the items. The location of this house is ideal. It is a very quiet part of the lake. We had awesome views and very little traffic. We enjoyed swimming off the dock for hours at a time. I highly recommend bringing all supplies needed due to the area being limited on stores, restaurants, etc. We did enjoy a few of the local places and the local grocery store for lunch. The only thing missing that we didn't think to bring was something to float in the water with. We drove around for hours looking for rafts, noodles or anything! We ended up driving to Jasper (40 minutes away) and finding something at Walgreens. So heads up, bring something from home to float on. The water is amazing and relaxing. You will want to just float around. Other issue that might pose a problem for some (not us). There are A LOT of steps to the water. It didn't seem this way in the pictures. For elderly people or families with small children, this could pose an issue. My elderly parents would not have been able to walk these steps which would have meant they couldn't have enjoyed the beautiful water. Other than that, I would recommend this place for families, girls getaways, etc. The quiet was unbelievable."
