About the host
Hosted by Jason Fisher

Our family purchased this lot in 2005 and began building this log home. Other than contracting with a company to erect the logs and getting the structure in the dry, we did all of our own work on the interior, which makes this home extra special to us. It has been a gathering place for our extended family from Alabama and Tennessee for summer weekends and holidays for over15 years. We have enjoyed many special memories here and are happy to provide our home for other large families to gather.
Why they chose this property
We choose this property because it allowed us to build the home just twenty feet from the lake and a few feet above the flood line. This means that when you exit on the lower level you only have an elevation drop of about fifteen feet to the walkway to the dock.
Across from the home is the Bankhead National Forest, so there are no homes or docks on the other side of the lake to ruin beautiful sunsets.
