"The first thing we saw were the pretty pots of flowers. Very inviting. Once inside the door we were surprised to see a very open kitchen, nice appliances and a cozy living room. Two very nice bedrooms were another welcome site. My favorite room is the sun porch. A nice table and chairs allow one to gaze at the bay in the comfort of the indoors. The two chairs places outside the sun porch were PERFECT for bay watching in the evening. We saw dolphins three times in our week stay. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was the bathroom. It's small and the commode is quite tight for space...but a small price to pay for such a lovely beach cottage. We travel with our 7 pound Papillon, Izzy who also loved her vacation. As soon as we walked in there was an assortment of doggie toys on the dryer top for her to choose from. What a nice surprise! She loved walking on the beach with us and watching the birds. We have already talked about it and plan to come back next year. My husband and I drove to the other beach area's surrounding the bay and both agreed that Prime Hook is our PRIME choice. If you have teens they may need more entertainment than can be found here - but if you want beauty, quiet, serenity and comfort - this is the place. We found plenty of restaurants and shopping 15 - 20 minutes in any direction. The seafood was simply the BEST. Jessica was our contact person and she was attentive and available 100% Highly recommend this property!"

"We really enjoyed our long weekend at this cottage hugging the dune and right on the beach. You can't beat it's location and ease of access.
Some of the things we just loved: big, new windows looking right into the dune/bay and out to the side to the beach; the big flat-screen TV - wow; great wifi; sleeping on the daybed in the sun room - what a lovely place to wake up; comfortable glider chair in sun room (perfect for my elderly mother); the accessibility for my mother who uses a rolling walker and a regular walker; terrific new patio with views to both bay and wildlife refuge; being able to bring our dog - so, so fantastic; owner's quick response to my questions and calls; friendly, helpful neighbors.
This is a simple, rustic cottage with some updates. The kitchen and its equipment are basic. The furniture a mix of old/worn and new. No closets. No washer/dryer. No dishwasher. This didn't bother us. If you need and require sleek luxury or more than basic amenities, don't come here.
If you want sky, water, dunes, beach, quiet, fresh air, birds (I've never seen so many blue herons and egrets in one place), simple pleasures, no stairs, and a place where you can bring your dog, then this is the place for you!"

"This Delaware bayside cottage is a delight! Three bedrooms if you want company, but for me it's just nice for the two of us to chill, read, sit or walk on the beach (with no crowds!!!), or a short drive to the Primehook Wildlife area and some trail walking and photography. We had a friend drop by for an overnight, and her jaw dropped at the peace and quiet in this on the water gem. If you really want to visit the crowds, Lewes, Rehobeth and Ocean City are but a short drive to the south..."

"Our family of 3 has stayed in the house 3 times (so far), and we love it! Our adult son travels from upstate NY to celebrate his birthday with us in May, and we have also been there for Thanksgiving. Everybody has their private space when needed but also spend plenty of time together in the open area. From this location, we can enjoy all of the wildlife areas of Prime Hook, Bombay Hook, Port Mahon, Slaughter Beach, Assateague and Chincoteague Islands, and many others. Some days, we just stay close to the house and enjoy the wildlife nearby. Father and son enjoy taking hundreds of pictures and never run out of fascinating subjects. Trips to town for food and ice cream were also enjoyable. Use the menus provided, and you won't be disappointed. We'll probably be requesting a reservation for this home again very soon."
