  • What a wonderful escape!

"We had a marvelous time with our family over the Labor Day weekend and we highly recommend. The sweet house and amenities are exactly as described plus the Owner's were great. Location is perfect and neighbors very friendly. Sitting out on the deck with a cup of coffee or libation with the gulf breezes gently blowing was so relaxing. Kids have already asked when we are returning & we look forward to returning next year! Thanks to both of you for sharing your lovely home....."

  • Nice place to stay with good views.

"The beach house was exactly as described in the ad so no surprises there. The biggest surprise was the ridiculous amount of sea weed washing up onto the beach. There was so much that it acted as a barrier to getting to the water and stunk horribly. Efforts were made by the city to clear it but it just kept coming in. We will never visit Galveston again during this part of the year. There was also a rather large snake sighted on the dunes so do not ignore the warning signs along the beach. The snakes are real. We had the opportunity to meet the owners and they were very nice and have done a good job keeping the property in shape. The house is several miles from the main tourist area so it tends to be peaceful unless there are other renters partying in neighboring homes. The neighborhood appeared to be about 50% rental properties and there were some partiers that went on until the early morning hours but it wasn't a constant or a huge issue. Other minor issues that need some attention were 1) the stove is not level so stove top cooking was harder than it needed to be 2) there was an outdoor light that wasn't working in the lower parking area and 3) the clothes dryer did not work very well - our towels never got dry and we ended up just hanging them over the railing to dry. The property is a good value but buyer beware on the seasonal issues like the sea weed that we encountered."

  • All the fun of camping, all the comforts of home

"We have just returned from our long weekend at the Palm Beach cabin and we're already planning to return! We booked last minute and took our dog. Communication from Linda was fantastic, she was really helpful with the questions we had. We loved the cabin from the moment we arrived, it reminded us of camping trips (but without any of the hard work!), it was the perfect place to chill out. It's a short walk to the beach and has a great deck and garden to relax in - reading in the hammock under palm trees was a highlight. There was only two of us so we had plenty of space and privacy. It was very clean and comfortable, in fact the pictures do not do the interior justice, and a shower perfect for my husband's 6'4" height!"

  • Perfect getaway family vacation beach house

"Loved our stay at this cozy house! Perfect for our family of 6 that went & stayed an entire week. Literally steps from the beach & we left our canopy & chairs on the beach every night & it was never bothered with. We had friends who were staying further out of town & came over one night for a party & they loved this house better than the one they had rented. It is peaceful & quiet because you are a few miles outside of town, but it is worth the 5 minutes it takes you to get to the seawall. We used the outdoor shower more than we used the indoor showers! It was exhilarating! The big bedroom has a full/queen size bed, closet & dresser drawer. I rearranged some of the bedding that was in the dresser & was able to use 2 drawers for our clothes. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds, closet & dresser drawer. My kids put their clothes in the dresser as well. In the big open room between the bedrooms are 4 twin beds that we sat on to hang out. There is a small living room area with a loveseat, TV & large built in bookcases full of books. I love the fact that the kitchen has 2 big windows to see the water as you cook & the dining room is right off the kitchen. It truly is a perfect "Beach House" with their beach motif. The very last day I made a phone call to the owner about the air conditioner filters needed to be replaced (family is in the business so it's something we look at) and he had someone call me back to get dimensions because they were on their way to replace them. I believe that is service! The big deck was wonderful & in the late afternoon & evening, it is shaded so that makes it nice to sit out & watch the sunset. The smaller deck up top was a great feeding spot for the pelicans. Every morning the kids wanted to go up there & feed them crackers, bread & any leftovers from the day before. They had a blast doing that! We will be back. Great experience for our first time to a beach & first time renting a house."
