We came here for our anniversary weekend and to get away from the hustle and bustle of edinburgh. What an absolute delight it was. Friendly people, stunning surroundings and so central to all the places we wanted to visit. Absolutely will recommend to anyone looking for an escape from reality.
If hiking is your fancy, this is the right place!
Hiking in every direction and away from it all. Property is clean but doesn't offer an oven; however, a convection microwave in its place will do the trick for reheating meals or quick cooking items. Right next to the road so expect a tractor in the early mornings that does go back and forth while working and tending to the needs of the roads and trails. Small and very accommodating for a couple. A bit damp even with heat on but they have a small wood fireplace that takes the moisture out of the air. The hiking is exceptional here! I've never experienced such beautiful hikes in my lifetime. Location is a bit far from groceries and dining out but Inverarary is a reasonable 45 min drive offering site seeing, shopping and dining. Love this area because it is away from it all.

Follow signs for the Erskine bridge after passing Glasgow Airport. Cross the bridge and follow the signs for Inveraray and Oban. After the Rest and Be Thankful turn left onto the A815 and follow signs for Dunoon.
Pass through the village of Strachur then approx 3 miles further on see signs for Glenbranter on the right hand side. (ignoring the first smaller sign for Glenbranter after Strachur which takes you along the charming old road) Turn right and drive up the road past the entrance to the Forestry Commission offices, past the car parks and Glenbranter cottage is the first property on the right hand side. The cottage name is on the front of the cottage.
On the Dunoon side, turn right from the terminal and follow the road until you come to a T junction at Sandbank. Turn right and continue on this road (A815 signposted for Glasgow).
After passing the Cot House Service Station look out for the Glenbranter sign on the left hand side(approx 8 miles). Turn left and drive up the road past the entrance to the Forestry Commission offices, past the car parks and Glenbranter cottage is the first property on the right hand side. The cottage name is on the front of the cottage.
