There are many public walkways in the area, including an old horse drawn railway track, which you can find almost on the door, with other routes into Goathland and Grosmont, where you can catch a steam train into Whitby or Pickering. Even though you’re surrounded by peace and tranquillity, there is still plenty to do in the area with the wonderful seaside town of Whitby a short drive away with cobbled back streets, many places to eat and drink, and 199 steps up to the famous Whitby Abbey for views out to sea and back across the town. There are many hidden gems dotted along the coastline such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, as well as traditional moorland villages to enjoy, theme parks, Scarborough open air theatre and so much more to see and do from this excellent base in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. A very well equipped, clean property in the most amazing location. Wildlife and steam trains quite literally on your doorstep and only a short drive from the beautiful Yorkshire coast. We enjoyed our stay so much that we've booked again next summer.
