2 bedroom cosy cottage 1 minutes' walk from the beach, pubs, restaurants & shops
The cottage is situated in a small courtyard which dates back over 400 years and as far as I know was one of the first cottages ever to be built down by the seaside in Broadstairs. This lovely cottages has been built out of chalk, brick, flint and old timbers, that had been washed up on the shore. Inside the cottage you instantly get a warm cosy feeling as you walk in, which carries on as you walk through to the other rooms.
Barnaby's Lodge is a fantastic base from which to explore everything the town and surrounding area has to offer.

About PHIL DENNIS
I was very lucky to be born in Broadstairs and I have lived here all my life. Barnaby's Lodge was one of the first houses to be built in this lovely town. I am a retired builder and have lovingly restored this unique cottage to it's former glory. I now manage The Fishermen's Cottages and have been in the hospitality trade for over 20 years now. I fell in love with this cottage when I was renovating it and I now have great pleasure in managing this one and two others that are on this web site. I really enjoy in making sure that all of our customers have a great stay, with 5 star customer care! If you want to know the best restaurants, pubs or beaches to visit then just let me know and I'll be happy to assist. I'm always here to help! I have understood what everyone is looking for and number one is cleanliness which is at the top of our list. We will work hard to ensure that your stay here in Broadstairs is both comfortable and enjoyable so hopefully you'll want to return again!
Why PHIL DENNIS chose Broadstairs and St. Peters
Steeped in history this cottage was built in 1680 and was used by the smugglers, there is still the secret door in the lounge that they used to escape from the custom officers. Parts of this cottage are built out of chalk blocks carved out of the local cliffs with flint and old oak ships timbers, really anything they could find on the beach. This is the best location to stay in Broadstairs, tucked away in a little courtyard yet so close to the beaches, shops and restaurants which are all only a minutes' walk away. Plus what a great place with all it's charm and character of a Fisherman's hide away, how could you not resist coming to stay.

Best holiday yet - Barnaby Lodge Broadstairs
My wife and I stayed at Barnaby Lodge with our two dogs for a short break. We have done a number of breaks with the dogs and found this one the best yet. Firstly - location of the cottage could not be better. Minutes from beach or walk along the top promenade, minutes from High Street shops, restaurants, fish and chips. Great starting points for walks, could not be better. The cottage itself is in pleasant, quiet off street Square. Inside is the neat, cosy and comfortable lounge, full of character. The kitchen had everything we needed. gas hob, electric cooker, fridge and freezer, microwave and all other necessaries. Loved the bathroom, yes it does not have a modern stand up shower, but has really deep bath with shower attachment, plenty of hot water too. Upstairs was spacious main bedroom with really comfortable double bed, we slept really well both nights. Other bedroom has bunk beds which looked cool. Then there is the excellent enclosed courtyard at the back, which is super when the sun was out, we sat out there with our coffees everyday. Could not fault it for our holiday and will definitely be booking again. Real value for money in our eyes.
Broadstairs itself offers loads for everyone, very picturesque and plenty of facilities including tiny cinema just 1 min down the road from the cottage.
Five stars without a doubt
Most enjoyable. Very authentic
Hello Phil, What a unique holiday we had. A very authentic cottage, extremely well refurbished, with every thing that one could possibly need. The cottage, like Broad stairs is quite unspoiled. The area, steeped in history is totally unspoiled .There is a natural charm about the area. Bleak House, just around the corner, Bacon butties at the Old Curiosity Shop, nattering to the regulars, the friendliness of the owners there, the historic pier and R N L I shop all enthusiastic about the history. We were served by one young man at a hotel whose father is in the RNLI about how the waves at Ramsgate had taken a life. Our trip to Canterbury was most enlightening, despite the rain! However we had a most enjoyable return admire the architecture. We were truly impressed with Pugin's Church.Loved Pegwell Bay. There is so much to enthuse over, if we were younger, we would return, but we have such great memories. So THANK YOU . Sorry we did not meet you. Christine Hilton.
Barnabys lodge unique
We had a wonderful few days visiting family seeing the Grandchildren spending quality time with them on beautiful viking bay beech which is only down the road from the cottage, lovely food from The curiosity shop delivered to your door. Bed comfy slept well. Our boxer dog loved the beech. It would of been 5 stars if it had a stand up shower. We will be back .
I am so pleased you had a great time with your Grandchildren on our lovely beach. We are going to have a shower installed so you can stand up, so next time you stay it should all be done.
All the best to you all.
Comfortable and quaint
Thank you Phil, we had a great time. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable had lots of character and was really well situated. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks for arranging the weather too, it was beautiful.
