Fabulous home/great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 month stay at Kelly's house. Everything was perfect. The location is great--close to everything so that we could walk wherever we wanted. The fenced yard was great for our dogs. The house itself was very comfortable with everything we needed. We would highly recommend "Cottage by the Sea." Kelly is great to work with! Our only regret is that we didn't inquire about 2019 earlier, because we would have loved to stay there again. Wonderful neighborhood!

Great location but short on cleanliness & amenities

We had a pleasant 6 week stay at this home. The location was excellent, close to beaches, shopping, great restaurants & a community center. The front yard was really nice, the back room lovely and bright and it was nice having the garage for extra storage. We should have studied the listing more closely, as it had no dishwasher and we cook a lot at home We also felt the kitchen was not stocked well. Also, felt the linens & towels were old, and fact that there were no mattress pads was creepy. We ended up buying towels, a mattress topper and mattress pad.

The place appeared clean, but the air filters & vents were dirty, the stove dirty and the rugs & couch pillows questionable. An attempted bath resulted in flakes of white in the water. Showering, luckily was OK. The refrigerator light went out while we were there. The manager sent a handyman out, but he couldn’t fix it. She said that it would cost $100 (we weren’t clear whether that was our or her cost) so it wasn’t fixed.

Although the manager/owner Kelly was relatively responsive she was not eager to please. Given the cost of this home we expected more, so we will not stay here again.

Owner's Response: As an owner and property manager, I always appreciate feedback. It is the guest's perception, and that is important! However, there are some inaccuracies. The mattresses are about 9 months old and are not inexpensive. Same can be said for linens, towels, rugs, throw pillows, and all furnishings. So it is hard to believe they were "creepy" or "questionable" in any way. The filters are changed every 3 months and the stove is older but clean. I checked the house myself before their check-in, and it was pristine. These ladies arrived and expected me to immediately provide a ladder so they could retrieve their bags from atop the van. I borrowed one from a neighbor and rushed it over to them. The next day, they requested hooks to hang their towels (rather than use the towel rack), an ottoman instead of a coffee table, a stepping stool for the kitchen, and a list of about 10 other items. I heard from them most days with a list of changes and upgrades needed for the house that were generally beyond the scope of what I was able to do. I did my best to accommodate but eventually did have to push back on some of the more unreasonable requests. Overall, I would agree that the house was not the right fit for them.

Beautiful beach cottage with character.

I loved the location, close to all the restaurants, walking distance to the St.Pete beach, a bike ride away to Treasure Island beach,. The house was everything i wanted in a bungalow from the open concept to the outdoor shower, The decor was adorable and the house is supplied well with everything i needed. Definitely would consider renting it again. The landlord, Kelly was also always very attentive to my needs.

A totally enjoyable bungalow with a good , fenced back yard. Just perfect for our Yokie.

Great location. Walk to beach, good eats. A friendly owner who was always prompt and very accommodating. Nicely renovated bungalow. The dining area/solarium took us in. Spent more time there than anywhere else in the house, even the bedroom.
