Why Leanne Butler chose Jamestown
We absolutely love this cabin and the area. It's so beautiful and serene and the perfect getaway for a couple, family, or group of friends. It's beyond nice to have your horses right there where you can see them, be able to tack up and just ride off directly from the cabin to various trails within the park.

Leanne has made this a beautiful home in the woods! We could not have been happier with our stay!
All the nicest details of a rental were covered, quality bedding and linens, clean and tidy. Kitchen was stocked for any kind of cooking you want to do. The best was sitting on the deck, in the trees, listening to the birds sing and no other distractions.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review, I appreciate it. It’s definitely my soul recharging station, and I’m happy you found it so as well!
In the Woods
This cabin in the woods was so peaceful and quiet except for an occasional dog bark and horse neighing from the distance, which we didn't mind at all! The hiking trail to the waterfall behind the cabin was an unexpected surprise where we saw the rock walls and rock shelter as well as deer tracks by the creek. Went to Pickett State Park two days for hiking and canoeing. The only improvement would be to add nice patio furniture for sitting, visiting, and enjoying nature.
Awesome cabin in a great location
It’s always nice when you arrive, and the cabin exceeds your expectations. We also noticed all the little things we forgot were there waiting for us. It was a very nice stay, even had one family member waving goodbye to the cabin when we were leaving...lol
Our family loved the relaxing atmosphere! The cabin was lovely and every detail was thought of. Thank you for a wonder place!
The cabin is clean and well maintained, the surroundings are quiet, and it's conveniently located to the parks. The owners take pride in their home and pay attention to the details. It has everything you would need. The owners also go above and beyond to make each guest feel welcomed.
If someone needs gluten free food, you may wish to bring certain items with you. This is a rural area. The nearest larger grocery store is a Wal-Mart about 15 miles from the cabin.
The property was amazing , cabin was very clean decor was beautiful, very well kept up
The property was amazing, very well maintained, clean, decor was beautiful. Stalls are covered and nice size for our mule and horse and there big girls . Hot tub was great after long days of riding, you can take a hike behind cabin and there we’re beautiful bluffs, cabin slept 6 very comfortably, on a quiet dead end road so no traffic. I would highly recommend Deer Haven Lodge to anyone that want to get away and have a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Location is only 17 miles to Jamestown, centrally located to trailhead and local points of interest. John and Leann are the nicest people and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. If we head back that way we will be back.
