Do not hesitate to rent this little gem. We were attending a wedding in the area and it was comfortable for all five of us who stayed.

Good for families

This house worked super well for our family of 3 with a 2 year old. I stayed upstairs with him and the bedrooms share a bathroom in between and can be completely closed off from the rest of the house. The carpeted stairs were very quiet so I could walk around without waking my toddler. There’s lots of bed options for kids-pack and plays and a toddler bed upstairs. Even a changing table and high chair!The only thing we needed was a gate for the stairs but it wasn’t a big deal. One thing to mention is that you definitely cannot see the lake from the house. Maybe if you look very hard across the street between the neighbors landscaping. Otherwise no view! But we found the house very comfortable and good for families with children.

Perfect spot

We loved our time at the cottage! The space was perfect for what we needed (3 bedrooms, a space for the kids to play, close to the water and downtown Holland, clean and homey). Chris was a great property manager- friendly, responsive, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

Beautiful quiet spot

The house is on a quiet street in walking distance from the marina. It is clean and has an airy pleasant atmosphere. We had only 4 of us so the 3 bedroom house was perfect. I appreciated the ease of check in and out with this location. The key instructions and checkout instructions were easy to find and easy to follow. I will book this again. Especially if we bring our boat next time.

Get Away

It was clean and well appointed! The location was really great. We liked that the master was on the first floor and our daughter’s room was upstairs! We are fairly tall and one of us is 6’6 and the furniture was comfortable! The only suggestion we would have is to have an electric griddle for guests to use!

Beautiful home, perfect location, great owner

The house is gorgeous and had everything we needed. If you're looking to cook, the kitchen is great and the dining area lovely. There is also a screened-in porch out back which was a nice place to have coffee in the morning. There were a few questions we had during our stay and the owner responded quickly and provided us with all of the information we needed. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend the property and the owner.

Great for families

Had another great stay here for an annual family reunion. This house is great for families reconnecting. House was clean and well-supplied. Grounds were pretty and enjoyed from the nice front deck. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage in the Woods. The home was clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the location is close to both the beach and downtown and in a beautiful neighborhood. Communication with the owner was good and timely. Highly recommend for a visit to Holland!

Woods Cottage

Very nice property. Beautiful shade from the trees allowed for comfortable outdoor sitting on the front deck. Well stocked kitchen. The floor plan is open and airy with cozy decorations and plenty of sitting areas. Would definitely rent again.

AWESOME!!

We have vacationed along Lake Michigan as family for about 17 years but this is the first time we have stayed in Holland. Absolutely loved the location of the house. It is very close to the Holland State Park and with it being across the street from Lake Macatawa it feels like you are right on the lake. Previous reviews are accurate that the pictures doe not do the house justice. The living room has two - three seat sofas which can't be seen in the pictures so plenty of seating for everyone. The table was expanded to seat six for us. The bathrooms were very nice and plenty roomy. I would recommend that if you are staying in the master bedroom and want to use your own products in the shower that you bring a caddy that can hang on the shower door as there is not shelf other than a soap shelf. The master bedroom is HUGE! LOVED the front porch. The pictures make it look very dark but it was perfect. The shade was a little cool so maybe pack a sweatshirt even if it is going to be warm while you are there so you can enjoy the porch. The back porch is great but it comes off the master so it isn't easy to use early in the morning if someone is still sleeping or getting ready in the master. The kitchen is well stocked. Paper towels and toilet paper was also well stocked. We had a couple of questions for the owners while we were there and they were quick to reply. I can't say enough good things about this rental! Looking forward to staying here again in 2024!!

Quiet and well equipped.

Nice location for getting to the Lakeshore, Marinas and into town. Well equipped. And layout worked well for the 4 of us, parents and two adult children.

Tulip Time In Holland

Great location. Fair price. Very quiet place to retire with the family after a day of looking at tulips. Hostess was very helpful. Place was furnished well and provided with all the necessities. Would stay here again and definitely recommend this VRBO.

Very clean, lovely house

The house was sparkling clean and in a nice location for both summer on the lake and fall hiking at Mt. Pisgah. Note that the neighbors are very close, so not at all private and no coffee maker, k-cups only. The owner was flexible when we were running late checking out, which was very much appreciated! Thank you!

Super cute & close to the water

Really nice property, well stocked, super clean, and a nice outdoor area. The only thing we could not figure out was if there was access to the lake and where that was. Asked the owner and did not receive a response. Would have been nice to be able to use the lake.

A lovely cottage by the water with friendly neighbors

We love Holland, Michigan for so very many reasons, and this stay was no exception! Chris’ house is so cozy with lighthouses and nautical themes. We really enjoyed having the sunroom, and the kitchen had plenty of space. The bedrooms were comfy, and the skylights and view from the front porch is a wonderful touch! Our first day there a next door neighbor was super helpful and even offered us fresh-picked tomatoes from his garden! And on a walk the next day another neighbor with a beachfront invited us to enjoy the waterfront! We felt so welcomed!

An inviting place to stay

We were so pleased to find the Cottage in the Woods to be even better than described in the listing. This lovely home is so very warmly cozy and inviting. It is super clean. Every amenity is provided with every age level accommodated. The beds are so so comfortable and we all agreed that the mattresses were very good. The cottage is set on a quiet street across from the lake. It is small but with the 3 bedrooms, the main living room, the front porch and the inviting 3 season room at the back of the cottage there is enough room for everyone to enjoy. It's the perfect place to relax, rest and refuel after getting to know all that Holland and nearby Saugatuck have to offer. We all agreed that we'd live to stay in this lovely home again. Thanks for a great experience!
