Sobre esta propriedade
Luxury 4 bedroom highland cottage in Glenlivet
This outstanding location offers activities and attractions to suit all ages and tastes, and the exceptional house is an ideal retreat after a day’s adventure.
This stunningly designed property stands in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It combines the feel of a whisky distillery with an Edwardian hunting lodge, with copper light fittings reminiscent of the still. Architect designed, the property enjoys panoramic views and the octagonal living space with ample seating, allows 360 degree views of the beautiful scenery. The wood burner which takes centre stage, stretches up to a glass cupola. Patio doors lead to a spacious outdoor seating area. The freestanding granite topped island can be moved around with ease allowing greater flexibility in the kitchen, whether cooking or prepping for a barbecue. Underfloor heating from an air source heating system ensures luxurious warmth all year round. The comfortable bedrooms on the first floor have oak floors, and the hanging hooks in the Edwardian style shower rooms are beautifully fashioned from deer antlers to give a quintessentially Scottish feel. The super kingsize bedroom has a double Velux window in addition to its large window, again making the most of the spectacular views.
Surrounding the house is the scenery of the Ladder Hills and foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains. Nestled in the heart of the historic Braes of Glenlivet, Millbank is well situated for exploring the Glenlivet Estate which provides numerous walks, cycle routes and a ranger service. The world-famous Malt Whisky Trail is on the doorstep and winds throughout the picturesque lush Speyside countryside to many working distilleries including Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Aberlour, Cardhu, Benromach and Dallas Dhu. All the famous names are here, and whisky lovers from all over the world come each year to the renowned Speyside Whisky Festivals held annually in May and September.
The combination of soaring mountain peaks, wild moorland and tranquil lochs attract thousands of visitors every year, with something for everyone to enjoy in this protected landscape. It is one of the best places to spot a golden eagle, capercaillie, badger, Scottish crossbill, red squirrel, pine marten, water vole or wild cat to name just a few. There are ever changing, spectacular views from the summit of the mountain ridges, and with four out of five of Scotland’s highest mountains being located here, walkers will not be left disappointed. On the lower slopes, the forests contain remnants of the original Caledonian pine forest and include a rare kind of pine wood found only in Scotland and Norway.
This unspoilt area offers countryside events, guided walks, mountain biking, canoeing, cycling, climbing, skiing, fishing, shooting or stalking. The Cairngorm National Park has a rich cultural heritage with castles, fortified houses and estates waiting to be explored. The Moray Coast is only an hour’s drive with rugged cliffs, caves, sheltered coves, quaint harbours and sweeping stretches of sandy beaches. Shop 7 miles, pub and restaurant 6 miles.
