Villa Blanche is a scenic rustic villa located in the quiet and calm Colares near Sintra. Accommodating 8+2, this lovely holiday home combines across its 3 floors modern features, culminating in a pleasant bucolic setting. With 4 bedrooms, 1 playroom for children with 2 mattresses on the floor, a fully equipped kitchen, and an open plan living and dining area, this cozy property is set to provide a wonderful family vacation. The exterior provides further enjoyment with a private heated swimming pool, an outdoor dining area with a table for 12 persons, a barbecue and a large garden with mature trees offering not only privacy but also space for children to play.

The beach stands at 2 km away and a wide range of restaurants can also be found nearby. Also at a short driving distance is the marvelous Sintra, one of the most iconic places to be seen in Portugal. For a different scenery, Cascais and Estoril offer a more cosmopolitan atmosphere and one of the biggest casinos to be found in Europe.

Loved Lazy Bear cabin!

We had an absolutely lovely getaway weekend at this cabin. The cabin had everything that we needed. Hot tub was a great temp & really clean. Fireplaces also really easy to use. They even had dog bowls for our dogs. Communication with the management team was awesome! We really appreciated all of the messages to ensure we had an easy check in & out. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable & the pillows were incredible. We really had a lovely romantic getawaym & would love to come back!

Lovely house in lovely neighbourhood

My husband and I spent two weeks at this house. It was lovely and just as described on the website. The living area was very spacious and light, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The garden was nicely done and we spent most of our time by the swimming pool or sitting on the veranda. The house is 1km from the beach and there are some outstanding seafood restaurants nearby plus some good supermarkets. The roads between the house and the beach are very quiet so good for walking and jogging. One thing to note - the TV is very small and not in a good place for viewing. Fortunately we didn't want to watch it but just be aware if TV is your entertainment of choice!

Lovely for summer rental but need some work if rented off season

This property would most likely be lovely if rented during the summer but we stayed there in February and the house was not heated at all. Once we checked in, the temperature in the house was around 12 degrees if not lower. I clearly had fog coming out of my mouth when in the house. Later, after we asked, the manager brought the heaters. But once we tried to use them, the electricity in the house went down. We paid extra for heating but it did not do much. Also I would recommend the management pay more attention to their customers satisfaction. There were a number of wrinkles before check in and after, so overall the managers did not seem to be very interested in checking in on us. Amenities and attention to detail matter, and it was strange to see that this property did not have even have salt available in the kitchen. The kitchen was entirely empty. Given that some people travel from long distances some courtesy coffee, water or little snacks are always very much appreciated. Given years of my property rental experience I would say that this property was charging more than the value, but if they work on the hosting part it may become a desired destination for travelers.

Hi Anna, we appreciate your feedback a lot. As you know, the bedrooms were heated when you arrived. Indeed, the living room and the kitchen needed additional support, which we provided the next day. The issue was solved. We always leave the basic amenities: toilet paper, washing capsules, dishwasher capsules, hand washing liquid, water, local wine, etc. If you wanted a meal to be waiting for you, you could have asked and we would have gladly arranged it for a charge. Our clients love Villa Blanche, which can be easily checked in the reviews that left on this and other portals, including our own website. We are sorry you were not totally satisfied with our customer care as we always replied almost immediately after you contacted us. Our Villa manager was available at all times. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Colares sehr genossen. Das Haus bietet alles, was wir als Grossfamilie mit 5 Erwachsenen und 3 Kindern gebraucht haben. Der Garten mit „der Wildnis“ hinterm Haus war für die Kinder ideal und auch der Pool war für sie (zum Schwimmenlernen) sehr gut geeignet und angenehm, da beheizt. Zwischen Sintra und Meer gelegen ist das Haus ein guter Ausgangspunkt für diverse Ausflüge. Ohne Auto läuft allerdings nicht viel.

SEJOUR TRES AGREABLE

La maison est très agréable, seul petit bémols la taille de la piscine un peu petite mais énorme avantage elle est chauffée. La maison est bien équipée Sinon pour tout le reste c'était parfait. Quartier où est située la maison très jolie . La petite de Colarés est à 10 minutes en voiture. Nous y retournerons avec plaisirs.

Why they chose this property

The villa is situated 11.5 km from Sintra, and 21.5 km from the cosmopolitan Cascais, with its marina, entertainment, shopping, beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, delightful terraces by the sea, not to mention the buzz of a very active nightlife. Estoril, that has the biggest casino in Europe, is only 25 km away. Lisbon, the capital with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, monuments, restaurants and Fado, is only 40 min. away. Guincho, with its surrounding natural park, is highly recommended for beach & sports holidays. But along the coast the choice of other beaches is endless. Guincho is famous for water sports activities, white sandy family beaches, all within a 20 min drive.
For golfers, there are 6 golf courses, 20 minutes away:
1) Quinta da Marinha
Set amongst beautiful pine trees and stretching down to Guincho beach, it has some of the most majestic sceneries in Portugal. Its hole number 13, a Par 4 descending to the sea, is a picture postcard of Portuguese golf.
2) Oitavos
It's the 1st Golf Course in Europe and the 2nd in the World to become a Certified Signature Sanctuary - Gold.
3) Penha Longa
Enjoys championship characteristics, an excellent level of maintenance and beautiful panoramic views over the Sintra mountain range.
4) Estoril
One of the oldest and best-known golf courses in Portugal. Many champions - including Max Faulkner and Seve Ballesteros - have walked the fairways of this course.
5) Quinta da Beloura
Fine views over the Sintra mountain range and a course surrounded by trees provide a very pleasurable game of golf.
6) Belas
Designed by Rocky Roquemore. Its eighteen holes extend over 6,128 metres for a Par 72.
