This is one of the member suites (we are members) of the 5-star Villa del Palmar Cancun in the tranquil Playa Mujeres area.

The elegant, spacious studio suite (~540 sq ft) was recently renovated with beautiful furnishings, USB/USB-C wall outlets, cozy reading lamps, dimmable lights, and automated blackout curtains that help you ease into effortless luxury.

It includes a writing desk, Nespresso® machine, fully-stocked wet bar, coffee/tea maker, 50-inch smart TV, and a spacious bathroom and can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under age 12 (with 1 king or 2 queen beds).

// THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Supremely situated in the Playa Mujeres beach area north of Cancun, one of Mexico’s most coveted locations with miles of undeveloped land behind it, it boasts one of the best stretches of white sandy beach in the area while the sea’s waves and currents are gently buffered by Isla Mujeres just across the horizon.

It's a tranquil area worlds away from the Hotel Zone and the tourist clamor of Cancun but close enough to enjoy if that's your thing (11 km from downtown and about 30 mins from the airport).

Take a short stroll to the Greg Norman-designed Playa Mujeres Golf Course and El Meco Mayan archeological site. It's just 12 km to the Urbano Kabah Park.

A short ferry ride from Punta Sam next to the resort or Puerto Juarez downtown takes you to Isla Mujeres (8 miles across the sea) and its beaches, village, and boutique shops.


// GETTING AROUND

Taxis, excursion buses, and hotel transportation are all available via the concierge. The public bus also passes in front of the resort (live like a local!). Airport transfers can be arranged through the resort in advance for a fee.


// THINGS TO NOTE

The member suites (like ours) are nicer than the hotel suites, are on higher floors (better views!) and away from the elevators (less foot traffic!). Nearly all suites have at least a partial view of the ocean; the few that don't have a direct ocean view still face into the center of the beautifully landscaped resort (as opposed to, say, the back of the property) — as do all the suites.

As members, we have priority but can't guarantee an ocean view if you book with little lead time and during high season.

During US holiday seasons (Presidents' Day, Holy and Easter Weeks, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years), there's a 7-night stay requirement, and reservations must begin on Saturday or Sunday.

Suites and public areas, including pool area, are wheelchair accessible, and there are units equipped with safety features for the disabled. Please note any special requirements, so we can make sure that the appropriate accommodations are reserved.

Cribs, high chairs, and rollaway beds are available upon request as long as occupancy is not exceeded. (Rollaway beds may be subject to an extra fee.)

Extra fees, like the all-inclusive option and certain amenities (spa, laundry service, etc.) are payable directly to the resort.

Villa del Palmar is a smoke-free property, but there are a couple designated smoking areas.
