About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Worn, dated, broken

 • 1 of 5

It's a roof over your head, has 2 bathrooms, enough bedding/towels, and the heaters work; located in a quiet residential neighborhood. But that's where the pros end. Here are all the cons we encountered:
Several windows, including patio door were broken and boarded/taped up/blind. Had to use electric light even in plain daytime due to the boards. Several handles on furniture were missing. Several lamps were missing shades/were damaged/switches didn't work. Shag carpet was worn and wasn't very clean, had holes and was patched in places. Wood floor also had a hole next to sofa. TV only had 2 bad channels and no instructions. Dishwasher was out of service. One shower had a malfunctioning showerhead and its cold water faucet was so hard to operate that our child scalded his arm. Front driveway was not cleared well and full of dog poop and old beer cans, which we cleaned up ourselves. All decor and items were VERY dated, and not in a charming way. Mattresses were old, creaky and HARD - all of us did not sleep well.
and Vacasa are not coordinated and ask for your credit card info many times. Late checkout was offered but not granted, even though no cleanup crew showed up. We would NOT book there again.

Owner's Response: We were very surprised to receive this review and checked every point presented within it. We did not find any broken shades, holes in the walls, holes in the floor, difficult faucets, worn/stained carpet, or anything in the yard unusual for a forest setting. We did replace the shower head, ordered parts to fix the dishwasher, and have a glass company scheduled to repair the broken windows. Thank you!

Waste of a vacation

 • 1 of 5

This was the worse trip I've been on. Roads were closed, 10hr delays. Didn't arrive till early the next morning. Driveway was not plowed leaving myself and my family to shovel driveway at 330 in the morning. We came in to a cold and dark cabin. When trying to reach owners, took hours to get back with answers. I felt they could of accommodated us with other options rather than loose out on money. I will not be returning to this property in the future.

Our family loved it!

 • 4 of 5

Some people would say it's out dated, but we loved it. We would and will stay again. Very cozy, comfy and the rooms are a good size. It has all the basic needs to cover a large family Inc. A washer and dryer. It was clean and the price fit great into our tight budget. Plenty of out door space for the children to run around outside with out going on to other properties.

Needs some TLC

 • 3 of 5

This house just needs some TLC. The curb appeal could be better with some paint to the outside and taking down the old trash container are some suggestions. The furniture was fine and comfortable, but there needs to be some updates. Specifically, the dishwasher has to be moved into the middle of the kitchen and hooked up to the kitchen sink in order for it to work. Also, the washer and dryer are very old and get very hot.

Not the best but doable

 • 3 of 5

The cabin is VERY old, it was clean but old. when you shower water soaks the floor even with the shower curtain closed. The front steps had dry wrought, so when my dad stepped on it, it broke and he fell. The rental agreement on the building had been expired since December.

not the best

 • 2 of 5

It was clean but really old. Nothing is updated in the house. The house has dry wrought and my dad fell when the step gave out. The rental permit expired in 2016. The location was great , easy to find close to the lake.
