Had a fantastic time, beautiful area and a stunning cottage which was well equipped, clean and exactly as described. Would definitely book again and recommend.
The cottage really is wonderful. Very spacious and well equipped and really comfortable. Lovely big garden that our dogs loved.
In a great location perfect for a relaxing time away from it all.
Will definitely return for another visit, if only to feed the resident pine marten! (peanut butter and jam sandwiches!)
Great week exploring the local hiking trails, the house is in a great location on a large peaceful plot.
Dog friendly with plenty of space, highly recommend.
Amazing cottage with beautiful views. It was well equipped and had the most comfortable beds!! We were lucky enough to have a visit from the pine marten and the red squirrel.
Fabulous property in one of the most stunning parts of Scotland. Blessed with gorgeous weather we enjoyed the plethora of activities on our doorstep. Saw both red squirrels and a pine marten in the garden. It was magical.
Both my friend and I are disabled and we both have chronic illnesses which causes mobility problems and severe pain. We found the cottageA peaceful sanctuary ,beautiful gardens and the river and waterfalls were excellent places to recharge our batteries ,One suggestion would be at top of stairs if a wee handrail could be added to help getting up to top landing .Excellent holiday retreat would recommend to all holiday makers EN
We spent a wonderful time at this lovely spot with its generous garden and gorgeous tiny waterfall. The house was tidy and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Thank you! We hope to come back one day.
Very nice furnished cottage, cosy, good beds.
Too many midges to use the nice garden. Not safe enough to let our dog alone in the garden.
Nice place in Scotland with beautiful walks and viewpoints. Good swimming at Loch Lomond.
What a lovely cottage, very private and relaxing, has everything and more you need for a holiday, lots of space inside and good sized garden. Wildlife in abundance, got to see pine martins, badger, squirrel and numerous species of birds all from the comfort of being inside, remember to take seeds, nuts and eggs, you will not be disappointed. Also easy access to walks of all levels. Balmaha is a lovely wee village with local shop and tourist information. Would highly recommend for a getaway to relax.
Couldn’t have asked for anything more! The house had everything we needed, hosts went out of their way to be helpful, and the views from the windows were perfection!! The stream in the back sounds amazing too! We went on numerous walks, took a ferry to beautiful Luss, a wonderful beach is walking distance, and the taxi service was so helpful, as we didn’t have a car (Steven especially, who also recommended a wonderful pub in Drymen, The Clachan and drove us everywhere!). Highly recommend✨
Dubh Loch Cottage has a fantastic location eight miles along the (dead end) road from Drymen to Rowardennan on the way to Ben Lomond. The house is situated in a clearing in the forest, with its own burn running down the hill at the back and its own lochan across the road at the front, and evening visits by pine martens! The house itself is really well furnished and fitted out. Dubh Loch Cottage is a great base for outdoor family (with children aged 22, 19, and 16) holidays, exploring Loch Lomond and the southern highlands. We had an amazing stay and would love to return!
Very clean, tidy and warm. Appreciated the phone call from Susie as we were enroute and extreme weather warnings with floods. As we’re weren’t that far away it was nice to know of alternative routes.
The house has everything you need to make the stay comfortable.
Although previous holiday makers had seen pine martins at the cottage we didn’t but plenty of birds.
The chocs and wine were a bonus. Thank you Susie and Simon
What a beautiful, beautiful house and location. We visited during the best two weeks of the summer, so we had the pleasure of using the house inside and out. Very nice, well kept garden. We encountered the gardening team the day before we left. They were there maintaining the gras and surroundings and were gone as swift as they had gotten there. No problem at all. There were some minor issues in the house when we arrived, which where resolved ever so quickly after reaching out to Simon and Susie. So eventually no problem at all. They are great hosts and reply very fast if you may ever need them.
There is lots to do in the near vicinity, even if you don’t like to hike like us. The drive to the house is a tad long and the West Highland Way was quite a well used road as we found out. Lots of hikers and cars coming both ways on a road that is at some points a little tight for two cars to pass by.
We had a great stay, can really recommend.
Oh, and thank you for putting up a charger for Electric Vehicles, I used it every day to charge up my PHEV. 😊
Wir haben eine Woche in diesem traumhaften Cottage verbracht und es war Erholung pur.
Liebevoll eingerichtet und in einer top Lage.
Es blieben keine Wünsche offen.
Wir möchten gerne wieder kommen.

If you want a cottage close to numerous trails and hiking routes with spectacular views this is the place to stay.
Well equipped, cosy, spacious and the most comfortable beds!
Wildlife in abundance and wild enough to get away from it all. Loved it!
We have just left the cottage after a wonderful week there. The cottage is very nice, well maintained and very clean and as per the pictures. The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of living space and a super garden and outdoor area. We took some bird seed and had lots of visitors including a woodpecker, red squirrel and the elusive pinemarten! Our children are 7 and 4 and absolutely loved the cottage and garden. You can walk to the shore of Loch Lomond in about 5-10 minutes and the view is just amazing. We found plenty to do nearby-the acquarium at Balloch, Balloch castle grounds, Luss beach, Stirling Castle, Drummond Safari park and plenty of brilliant walks with the children and the dog. We were so sad to leave this morning after such a lovely week.
We cooked a few nights in the cottage and the kitchen was well equipped although it would help to have some more children’s plates, bowls, cups etc. We had everything we needed to make proper meals for us all though and there is a lovely big freeze/freezer. We had a Sainsbury’s food delivery on the first day and there is a small Spa in Dryman (approx 20 mins away) and a decent size Co op at Balloch (approx 30 mins away).
We also went to a wonderful pub in Dryman-The Clapham Inn. The food and service were super, and we went back the next night! Less nice food at the nearer pubs in Balmaha and Rowardennan so it’s worth the extra drive to Dryman if you want to eat out.
The wifi is a bit patchy but given the location pretty good!
We would definitely recommend the cottage and it’s location.
Great place for our group of friends (3 x couples) to getaway.
The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for our time their, but the best thing by far is the outside space at the cottage and the fact that you are right next to the loch. 5 mins drive and you can be at any number of 'beaches' with direct access to the loch. We took a canoe and paddle board with us and was well worth it.
Great holiday had by everyone, would definitely recommend.
A lovely cottage in a fantastic location. The cottage was very spacious, homely, clean and well equipped with everything you required, friendly owners who were helpful if you had any questions. Beautiful setting which all added to a wonderful holiday. We would definitely book this cottage again.
Beautiful property, really well equipped. Garden is a bonus. Only a short drive to local amenities, walks and a lovely bay. Great communication with property owners, who are really helpful. Definitely recommend.
