Huset Àr ett archiect designat mitten av Ärhundradet modernt hus byggt 1964 och nyligen kÀrleksfullt restaurerade och fortfarande i samma familj. Fem minuters bilresa frÄn staden Oughterard (Oughterard ligger pÄ N59 frÄn Galway mot Clifden), 26 km frÄn Galway stad.

Huset har 3 dubbelrum med flexibelt boende i tvÄ (tvÄbÀdds- eller dubbelsÀngar). Den har 2 badrum, master badrum, Grohe regnduschar, enormt öppet vardagsrum och matsal med stor kopparskÄp spis och fantastisk utsikt över sjön, vÀlutrustat kök med stor SMEG kyl och frys, separat mottagningsrum, med andra 8-sits matbord för mer avslappnade familjemÄltider. Stor trÀdgÄrd med direkt tillgÄng till sjöstranden fram och bak och privat hamn pÄ baksidan. otrolig utsikt över sjön, lugn och lugn tillflyktsort.

Tranquil mid century modern home overlooking a lake, the host and property manager were attentive and responsive, accomodations were as described in the listing. We used this as a home base to explore western Ireland and it did not disappoint.

Lovely New Year Retreat

After a whirlwind tour of Dublin and Cork we found a refreshing change of pace at this bungalow outside of Oughterard to ring in the New Year. There was plenty of room for the five of us and it made a great landing spot for day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway.

Idyllic Fishing Lodge

This is a spacious, modern fishing lodge set right on the edge of Lough Corrib, with stunning views onto the Lake. It is truly peaceful, so ideal for those either wishing to fish, or simply to have a complete get-away. It is very private with no-one overlooking you. If you are looking for peace, tranquillity, space and immersion in nature, this may well be the place for you.

Fantastic location

This property is situated on a quiet road to nowhere with an absolutely stunning views over Lough Corrib. The property itself has bags of character, and whilst it could do with a bit of TLC is perfect for a relaxing break away, the bed was super comfy which ensured a good night's sleep. Owner and caretaker Mike were a real pleasure to deal with and I hope we can come back again next year. Thanks for having us.

* GREAT location, beautiful views and a really great property manager! That stated, the property is run down and terribly in need of repair and updating. Overall, we had a wonderful time with family but would’ve been more comfortable at a hotel in town. It’s certainly a place we’d want to come back to if the property was cleaned up and updated. Thanks to Mike for making our stay as comfortable as he could 
 he alone gets 5 stars for bringing us firewood and answering all our questions!

Magical location

Can't recommend enough. Beautiful location on Lough Corrib. We had a family reunion and the house had everything we needed for big dinners on the shores of the lough or in inclimate weather, eating indoors. Oughterard is very easy to get to from Galway on a new road that makes the journey quick. (about 30 mins) The town itself is lovely with nice food options for eating out. The interior of the house is very comfy. Especially the beds. The furniture is a bit dated but did not present any problems or deter from experience. We will definately be back.

Great Time !

We rented this property for 3 days while we visited around Galway. Didn't want to stay in the city - just wanted a beautiful setting to relax and recoup from traveling . Place is set right on the lake - spectacular views. Beds were comfortable -everything you need in the kitchen. Really enjoyed the fireplace - burned a lot of turf! Want to thank the Property Manger Mike - what a guy. He received into town - showed where to get food staples and then escorted us right to the cottage. And we needed his help because it can be a bit tricky driving the lone road to it. We had some minor issues that popped up our first night but they were quickly taken care of by Mike. He was a nice, affable guy and was always just a phone call away. Our last day we were blessed to wake up to a double rainbow across the entire lake - what a view. Anyway - I recommend this property highly.

Nice little bungalow on the lake that my group stayed at for a few nights to explore Western Ireland. The scenery was gorgeous, and it was a very quick/easy drive into Oughterard for restaurants / supplies.

Absolutely beautiful views of lakes and mountains!! Even got to see a sunset one evening!!! Beds are very comfortable and house is very quirky (in a good way) with old timey furniture and appliances (all work fine). Well stocked kitchen. Short drive into Oughterard (very cute little town) has supermarket and pubs (Clancy’s serves wonderful roasters and has live music). Convenient to take day trips to Connemara peninsula. All in all a grest place to stay.

It is wonderful to arrive to find that everything is exactly as described in the VRBO listing. The house is lovely and well preserved. The views are amazing and the quiet was exactly what was needed.

Good location

Overall, not a bad place. Good central location to visit the many attractions in this special part of Ireland. Amenities were good. The cottage could use some upgrades such as more comfortable living room furniture. The mattress in the ensuite needs to be replaced as well. The outside could use some sprucing up. This cottage has potential just needs a little tlc.

Wonderful stay by the lake

This stay and area were the highlight of our trip. We loved everything about the cottage and location. Breathtakingly beautiful and right near the lovey town with everything you need to include world class coffee, and multiple outstanding pubs. Clancys is an absolute must as is Powers Thatch.

Peaceful getaway

The property was as advertised and very secluded on a peninsula. The lake is quite with great sunrise and sunsets. Mike (property manager) was easy to get ahold of and pleasant to work with.

Nous avons facilement trouvĂ© le logement grĂące aux indications du propriĂ©taire. Cependant, il faut faire attention car le chemin d'accĂšs est parfois trĂšs Ă©troit. L'espace de vie est spacieux et l'environnement est plaisant. L'Ă©quipement est adĂ©quat, bien qu'un plus grand nombre de verres Ă  vin serait apprĂ©ciable. La propretĂ© nous a quelque peu déçus, le mĂ©nage ne semblant pas ĂȘtre fait minutieusement de maniĂšre rĂ©guliĂšre. MalgrĂ© cela, notre sĂ©jour a Ă©tĂ© agrĂ©able.

Cozy quiet cottage

The cottage was as expected. It was quaint and quiet. The scenery was beautiful. Mike met us at the property and went through everything we needed to know. He followed up later to make sure we didn’t need anything. He was quick to return our call when we had a question. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. It’s very peaceful.

Perfect

I am very familiar with Baurisheen Bay, as my family holidayed there every summer when I was a child. It is just the most peaceful, beautiful setting. My family usually stayed in the house next door, so this year when my parents booked that house, we booked this one. I'd never seen inside it,and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a wonderful house, with a great layout, very spacious for families, and of course that view...just stunning. I found Nicholas very pleasant to deal with when booking. And Mike, who takes care of the house, was just brilliant. Very welcoming and friendly when we arrived, he got us whatever we needed, and is just a top bloke. The house has been very tastefully restored. I love the decor, the big orange sofa by the fire, which was usually taken up by my 2 teenage daughters, and the kitchen was huge and beautifully refurbished. The floor and wall tiles, cupboards that were inkeeping with the original character of the house, and great big fridge. A really great space for families. My younger kids had a ball jumping in the water, wearing wetsuits. That was the hghlight f their holiday. We brought our paddleboards, and on days when it wasn't too windy we paddled all around the bay, over to the sheep island. The gardens are well kept, grass nice and tidy. The front garden is big...great for Frisbee or kicking a football around. My old labrador was in his element too. We would definitely return to this house. We loved it.
