Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, full bath, sleeps two

HARO HAIKU is located on the West side of beautiful San Juan Island. New photos are being added to our page as the staging and decorating is completed.

The house is nestled just below the ridge line - with 180 degree views of the Olympic mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca beyond, and Haro Straits immediately below.

Inside Haro Haiku you'll find a contemporary blend of furnishings. The interior lets the outside in through widow placements and large sliding doors out to a full length deck.

The views are spectacular!!

Across the straits to the Olympic Mountains, Pt Townsend, Mt Rainier, and Whidbey Island it never fails to inspire and delight. Sunrises, sunsets, ship and boat traffic, the lights of Victoria, and the Olympic Peninsula, clear starry nights, cloud formations, combined with the sound of Orca whales and surf below. Truly awesome!!!

Serenity and repose on San Juan Island

About Stephanie

We have lived on San Juan Island for 26 years. We owned and operated Lakedale Resort for 18 of those. We are very knowledgeable about what to do, where to eat, and out of the way places to hike, beach or..? We can help you with reservations for activities, dining or self guided tours of the islands. Always available and close by for any assistance necessary.

Stephanie purchased this house in 2005

Why Stephanie chose Friday Harbor

The location of Haro Haiku is the main reason we chose to purchase it; Located on the WEST SIDE of San Juan Island with its spectacular vistas of Haro Straits, the Olympic Mountains, easy access to Lime Kiln State Park (Whale Watch Park), Serenity of the neighborhood (None to close, but not to far), and convenient to Friday Harbor.

Property is 3 acres with lots of privacy and views.

What makes this house unique

"Hello,

I haven't had a chance to write you until now, but i just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your lovely home. It was beyond all our expectations and we couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was. (both the house and the location) our stay was glorious and much (or most) of that can be attributed to the haro haiku house. Thank you for your contribution to a wonderful weekend!

-Holly S.

Fantastic weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for our weekend getaway! We loved the view and seclusion. We were able to relax and unwind :) The weather was absolutely perfect with clear skies and an incredible view of the mountain range across the water! The place is small and cozy, but a newer build. The bed was extremely comfortable. We really appreciate Jack coming over and cleaning up the BBQ since most people probably don't use during this time of the year. All in all this was a great place to stay and we would definitely come back in the future if we stay on the island.

The perfect getaway on San Juan Island

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at a number of rental properties over the past few years and this was by far our favorite. Nestled in beautiful forest surroundings this lovely and completely furnished home with a beautiful view of the Salish Sea was a delight! Stephenie and Jack were the consummate hosts and we are already looking at the calendar when we might be able to enjoy a long weekend retreat amidst the peaceful beauty of this place. Thank you Stephenie and Jack for paying attention to every small detail that helped make our stay so enjoyable.

Lovely guest house with beautiful view of the bay!

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely little guest house overlooking the bay with a perfect view of Canadian mountains framed perfectly for us. It had everything we needed, was only 15 minutes or so from Friday Harbor, but it felt worlds away. Beautiful, quiet, furnished with all we needed. Balancing our time between relaxing here in the quiet of this place and exploring Friday Harbor was a perfect trip. This was Spring Break for both my daughter and me, so after a very busy schedule, coming here was lovely. This is a lovely little home. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils, bedroom cozy and comfortable, very nice bathroom with tub/shower and the deck outside looks out into the water and the mountains in the back. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this little guest house to future guests.
