Plakias villa is a lavish three-bedroom escape with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea and the sunset.
Spread over two floors, the villa has a beautiful balance of shared spaces and private rooms, equipped with all the needed amenities and the amazing views from floor-to-ceiling windows.
Bright and comfortable interior that open up completely across the beach, making Villa Plakias a charming and calming place to relax and enjoy your vacations in one of the most beautiful island of Crete.
The open plan space with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table for 6 guests and a stylish living area with a Satellite TV, overlooking the pool and the sea.
Rooms are spread over twofloors, with the first bedroom on the ground floor near the kitchen, while the rest two bedrooms on the first floor. The bedroom on the ground floor, has two single beds which can be converted into a king bed (1.80*2.00). The second bedroom has a double bed while the master bedroom has a big window from wall to wall, ideal to enjoy the breathtaking sea view. Each bedroom has TV and air conditioner.
The villa is equipped with two bathrooms, one on the ground floor and the second one on the first floor with a shower, offering all the needed bath amenities like shampoo, soap, shower gel and conditioner.
Either from the main door or from the window floor in the living area, you will lead to the outdoor area. It features an outdoor swimming pool as well sunbeds...the best place to relax gazing the endless view of the Cretan Sea.
Free street parking is available out of the villa.
After a long day, exploring the beauty of Crete, do not leave without enjoying a swim at the sandy beach of Plakias, just 100 meters from the villa.

We stayed in Plakias as a group of friends and everything was just perfect!The house was very clean, well equipped, and exactly as described. A special thank you to Eleni for being such a warm and friendly host!The location is ideal: close to the beach and right in town with everything you need. We’ve been to Plakias many times before, but this is by far the best place we’ve stayed.We’ve found our favorite accommodation in Plakias and will definitely come back!

Two families used this unit and the one next to it also owned and operated by Eleni. Everything was wonderful. Showed up to a clean space with treats and wine waiting for us. Just as the pictures showed, it was well appointed, well decorated, and in a perfect location (quiet end of the beach just steps to the ocean). To be aware, there is a third small second floor unit in between the two houses. Wasn’t an issue but good to know if you are looking for privacy. Also there is no shade by the pool as Plakias can be to windy for umbrellas. Amazing restaurants just a walk away. Great beach by the unit. It was absolutely 5 stars. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay in Plakias

My husband, 9 year olds and I had a great visit to Plakias! We were welcomed with fresh fruits, sweet treats, and wine which we all dug into. The house itself had all of the modern amenities we needed including a nicely stocked kitchen, smart TVs, and comfy beds. My kids had a blast in the pool and I loved having coffee overlooking at the sea. The location was perfectly quiet but still a quick hop into the town. We would return in a heartbeat and would enthusiastically recommend Villa Smili.

Urlaub in Plakias

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Plakias. Das Haus war wirklich super schön und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Meer direkt vor der Haustüre und bis in den kleinen Ort, mit viel schönen Tavernen, nur ein kurzer Spaziergang. Wir kommen gerne noch einmal wieder.

Perfection in Plakias

An amazing stay in Eleni’s perfect property. We could not have asked for a more perfect holiday - Plakias is the perfect destination in Crete - away from the crowds and overdeveloped resorts but with enough to do, an amazing beach, good walks, and lovely local run beach bars and tavernas serving great food. The house is perfection - tastefully decorated and with everything you could need provided. Located a few hundred metres from the beach, but still quiet and peaceful. Eleni was the perfect host, and so attentive and caring. We were spoiled by lots of lovely local treats, and she could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa - 5*!

My family just returned from a glorious stay at Villa Smili. The villa is exactly as it appears online - aesthetically beautiful yet very comfortable. It is a short walk or drive to several excellent tavernas, and beautiful beaches. Our biggest compliment goes to our host, Eleni. We have stayed at several vacation rentals around the world, but the hospitality received from Eleni was world class! We highly recommend Villa Smili and hope to visit again in the future!

Please keep the secret!!!. We want to always come back to Plakais and this gorgeous villa. Spectacular!! We hope it remains an adorable unspoiled place, a local beach town with delicious food, clear water, and pray this wonderful VRBO has room for us. Excellent everything. Such lovely hospitality! Every convenience! We want to return each year or sooner. Thank you greatly and hope for your health.

July 2023 Summer Break

This was our first trip to Crete and it was wonderful. We loved the island and the people are so friendly and welcoming. Eleni was superb from the start - very helpful, informative and prompt with responses. Villa Smili is exactly as it looks in the pictures, descriptions and other guests feedback...we could not fault it and we had an amazing stay. The villa is just lovely inside and out, and we loved that everything was just a stones throw away from the villa. You really do not need a car (aside from getting there of course) as everything is in walking distance. We loved the beaches, trying different tavernas and of course the beach bars were just great! Will definitely be back - thank you Eleni!

Very nice Villa at Plakias

The stay at the villa was very nice. The Villa is located a few meters from the best section of the wonderfull sandy beach of Plakias. Eleni welcomed us with selfmade cake and liquor. The house is well equipped and the balcony on the first floor is perfect for a sundowner. Thank you Eleni for your hospitality and the great time we had at your Villa

Loved it!

The villa itself was just wonderful! Beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean (and was cleaned twice during our stay!) All the essentials you needed were provided for at the villa, all the small things were covered! I was really impressed with Eleni's hospitality, really helpful with any questions we had, nothing was too much trouble, the local cakes/pastries and water for when we first arrived was so needed!! The presents she brought for the girls for the journey home.... best experience from a host with a holiday abroad for us!! Thank you xx

Schönes Haus mit allem was man braucht.

Das Haus ist schön , modern und hochwertig eingerichtet. Man findet alles in dem Haus was man benötigt. Der Weg zum, für mich schönsten Strandabschnitt, ist ist nur ein paar Meter entfernt. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und die Kommunikation war tadellos. Leider und das gehört auch zu einer ehrlichen Bewertung, wird in der Nähe gebaut so dass dieses doch manchmal störend ist. Trotzdem hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt!

A great stay to remember

A big thank you to Eleni for making us feel at home from the start. Be it the communication beforehand or during our stay, Eleni was always reachable. We really enjoyed the reception on our arrival, with fresh baked cake and other sweets to enjoy after a long trip. The property is immaculate and very luxurious. The pool was a fun place to sunbathe and relax, with the beach only a few steps away from the property. The property is very new and well maintained, with a pool cleaning every morning. Once again thank you for making this stay a memorable one. If ever back in Plakias, we will be sure to look up this property again :-)

Diese Villa und die Gastfreundschaft der Vermieterfamilie sind fantastisch. Vom netten Empfang mit gebackenem Kuchen, Obst, gefüllter Kühlschrank nach unseren Wünschen, sogar Liköre gab es, bis zur liebevoll stylischen Einrichtung, einfach perfekt. Die ganze Ausstattung ist erstklassig, wir haben nichts vermisst. Manch Detail hat uns begeistert, hochwertige mit dem Namen der Villa bestickte Bettwaren und Handtücher zum Beispiel, oder die durchdachte Beleuchtung am Pool. Der Weg zum Strand nur kurz, da ging es sehr ruhig zu. Kein Massentourismus zu finden. Die erstklassige, ortsansässige Fleischerei und Bäckerei können wir nur empfehlen. Wir haben alle, groß und klein, den Urlaub genossen. Wir wünschen Eleni und ihrer Familie alles Gute, liebe Grüße!

Simply Amazing Experience. Best taste of Cretan Hospitality.

With no great insight of what to expect for our first holiday in Crete, we were absolutely blown away with this property, the atmosphere, and accessibility to the community Villa Smili provided. Th owners of the property have really gone out of their way to provide every amenity and make the experience unique and very community inclusive. The Villa is situated a few hundred yards from the beach, restaurants, and shopping venues, a little further on (600-700m) you’ll find more shops, bars, and tour companies that organize local trips, and dive centers. Although we rented a car, we did not ‘need’ it once we were in Plakias. The private pool though small the focal point for gatherings and meals, which was perfect for our family. Perfect property for a relaxed vacation in the picturesque seaside of Crete’s south!

One of the best properties

We really felt home! The real reason why we have chosen this property is its style, as pictured on the site, but the reality takes the breath away! The property has just been built last year. It is conceptually well designed down to the least detail. The fournitures of modern design, are of high standard. The decoration is just incredible, a delight to the eyes. In addition to the large choice of amenities, the owners have shown particular attention to the needs guests, who just arrived from a long and tiring trip have upon arrival at any time, in a place they do not know, where they do not speak the local language, don't know were to buy the items of primary necessity (salt, sugar, oil, drinking water ... hygienic paper), even if shops are open at that time. But in addition to these thoughtful attentions, the owners delighted us with home made cakes, all kinds of local fruits and fruit juices, even three different welcome drinks! But since, at the time of planning the trip, I asked if locally there was the opportunity to buy a special product I tasted in my childhood, well ... what a surprise ... Eleni, the owner, showing a very personal attention, made me find the coveted product in the fridge! Upon departure, when leaving the house, Eleni unexpectedly came up with a much appreciated goodbye present. After 10 delightful days at this property, we frankly believe it is a place one wants to come back all the time.

Empfehlenswert: Top moderner neues Haus mit hochwertiger Ausstattung direkt in Strandnähe

Wenn man die perfekte Unterkunft sucht, dann findet man sie hier. Tolle Aussicht auf die Bucht, nur ca. 1 min. zum Strand mit dem überragend klaren Meer; Strandbars & Restaurants sind zu Fuß sehr gut zu erreichen; Bäcker, Metzger, Supermärkte (für die ganze/teilweise Selbstversorgung) bieten beste Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und sind ebenfalls zu Fuß gut erreichbar (bei größeren Einkäufen ggf. das Auto nehmen). Das Haus selbst ist ganz neu, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail, sehr sauber (die Reinigungsfrau kam in den 10 Tagen 2x für jeweils 3h) und für 2 Erwachsene + 4 Teenager super ausreichend. Das Haus ist auch sehr solide gebaut, d.h. man hört im Erdgeschoss nichts vom Stockwerk darüber oder von den Nachbarn im Haus (nur, wenn man draußen im Freien ist). Die Küche bietet alles, was man für einen Urlaubsaufenthalt benötigt mit ausreichend Geschirr, Töpfe, Pfannen, Toaster, Mikrowelle, … und natürlich die Espressomaschine mit Milchaufschäumer sowie die Spülmaschine 😊. An Fenstern/Schiebetüren sind Fliegengitter (welche wir ehrlicherweise nicht gebraucht hätten, da wir während der ganzen Zeit keine Stechmücken gesehen haben, was überraschend war – ggf. mögen diese den zeitweise starken Wind nicht?). Jeder Raum ist mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Der Pool ist völlig ausreichend dimensioniert und wurde jeden Tag früh morgens vom „Poolman“ gereinigt. 4 Liegen und 1 Sitzsack geben ausreichend Gelegenheit, sich zu entspannen. Nicht zu vergessen ist der BBQ-Grill – es lohnt sich, beim lokalen Metzger einzukaufen und selbst zu grillen - dazu lokalen Käse! Eleni und Ihre Familie (Mutter und Vater) sind extrem nett, gastfreundlich (wie übrigens alle Kretaner im Ort, welche wir beim Essen oder Einkaufen getroffen haben) und fürsorglich. Schon im Vorfeld war die Kommunikation immer schnell und hilfreich, da es ja lange nicht klar war, ob die Reise wegen Sars-Cov2 und den Reisebeschränkungen auch wirklich stattfinden kann. Als wir mit dem Mietwagen vom Flughafen angekommen sind, war der Kühlschrank schon mit verschiedenen Lebensmitteln gefüllt und wir wurden mit einem selbst gebackenen Kuchen überrascht (und dies auch nochmal 2 Tage vor unserer Abreise – was für ein netter Service!). Von Plakias aus kann man auch sehr gute kurze Ausflüge oder Tagestouren (z.B. nach Rhetymno, …) machen. In der Nähe sind weitere tolle Badebuchten (Ammoudaki Beach, Klisidi Beach, Kalypso Beach, ...). Vielen Dank an Eleni und Ihre Familie!
