Great Property ! Wonderful Views !
Overall great stay . The only problem is that there is no parking when other renters are staying in the upstairs part of the house . All other aspects of the apartment were fantastic !
I am so sorry the parking was a problem. I specifically reserved two spots on the left side of the driveway just for you. I wish you had contacted me. I would have contacted the renter in the main house and had them move their cars. The renters upstairs were not suppose to use those spots. Hopefully you found parking tin the cove. The cove is common property and you literally can park anywhere even the grass. The only caution is that you cannot block a driveway. Glad you enjoyed the unit despite the parking issue. I will make sure to check in with renters in the future. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Lorraine
Swarming bees in parking lot thanks to beekeeper neighbor. Live and dead cockroaches inside. Dead scorpion in pool. Dusty, dank inside. A/C crashed in 100+ degree weather. TV has a handful of channels and is of the bubble generation (i.e. not flat screen.) Marina rules prohibit swimming. You have to drive 30-45 minutes to rent a boat. Can't sit on deck at night because of flying insects swarming around light source. You can't reasonably walk to lake because of rugged, steep terrain. Overpriced.
You rented an vacation unit in a rural area. Bugs are a fact of life even with regular pest control . You indicated that you wanted a weekend of peace and quiet. The lake house offers that but was probably an unrealistic expectation travelling with a 2 and 4 year old. The unit is open with beautiful views. No one would ever call it "dark and dusty". Bugs do swarm around lights at night. Did you consider turning off the light on the deck so you could sit on the deck. That's what I do. Prior to renting, you asked MANY questions. I answered in great detail. I explained the swimming, boat rental situation, distance, view from deck, and sleeping arrangements, etc. You called/texted me many times from the minute you arrived and seemed to need a lot of "hand holding". You didn't follow instructions left for you. You said they were lost under your kids stuff. The air conditioner didn't "crash". It needed a reset because of the condensation caused by the extreme temperatures. I explained this was a safety feature. All you had to do was press a button. According to Google Maps the Briarcliff Marina where boats are rented is a 22 minute drive and is 13 miles away-- not as you stated. There are three pools at Windermere that are at your disposal. Surely one of them was acceptable to you. My neighbor is a bee keeper but the bees are kept "off" property as I explained. You said the bees you saw were gone and not a problem. I don't know why they were there. I'm sure it was initially frightening with small children. Swimming has always been allowed at the Marina beach. The unit has regular pest control. I'm sorry you found it not to your liking.
Again, I think your expectations were unrealistic. A rural get away may not be the best choice.
Very Nice Property with great views
Overall experience was good. The views and scenery are spectacular. This place is in a really nice gated community. We arrived about 10 pm and it was really dark so getting to the right unit was a little confusing. Once we finally unloaded and got settled in we were just looking to relax for the night. My only negative comment would have been the group above which was about 6-8 people were young adults were playing really loud music till about 5:30 am and started back up about 7:45 am. We were expecting the same thing again on Saturday night but they realized that we were directly below them as they were having water ballon fights on the balcony and water was dripping through the deck and we spoke up and they were very respectful and kept the volume level down and immediately stopped. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back in the future. If you want peace and quiet go to a B&B, if you want scenery and nice views this is the place!
