Our story began 45 years ago in California- the next 45 will be in Hawaii!! We purchased a fixer upper home 5 years ago in North Kohala and are still working on the renovation-let's just say we have embraced the much slower pace of the Big Island! Maybe when we retire(again!) it will be in Hali'i Kai 15B-until then, make yourselves at home. We are on island, so please don't hesitate to let us know if we can be of any assistance.

We had taken many vacations to Hawaii and the dry side of the Big Island became the obvious choice for us. Sue has discovered the consistent warmth has reduced her arthritis pain -unlike the extreme temperature changes in California. Perhaps the amazing sunsets, stargazing and mai tais may have also influenced our decision!

Dear Jeff,

Pictures cannot prepare one for the reaction we got when we opened the

front door. Your place has got to be the nicest place on the whole island

-- just amazing! We already have memories of a lifetime just sitting on the

lanai staring at the ocean, spending time with each other and drinking

coffee (and beer). I meant to drop you a quick note earlier, but we've

been so busy having the time of our lives.

Having been to Kauai so many times, I wasn't sure what to make of all the

lava on the way up! But we went to Hapuna, visited Kailua Kona and Hilo,

and are really loving this island.

Whenever we come back "home" to 15B, it never fails to amaze me to walk

through those doors and see that view. My expectations were high to begin

with, but it's no exaggeration to say we're blown away. Mahalo, Mahalo!

They thought of EVERYTHING!!!!!

We had a fabulous time! The owners carefully thought of everything one might need on a vacation and made our transition from frozen MT to sunny and warm Hawaii so easy. We enjoyed the whale watching and gorgeous sunsets from the very comfortable lanai every day! We would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a great getaway!!

We always try to have the necessities on hand as well as all the activity gear ready to go. The whales are a seasonal treat but watching the amazing sunsets from the lanai is guaranteed 365 days a year!

Do not judge a book by its cover

We were not too keen to see the huge condo complex this place was part of; however, it turned out to be an awesome place. The complex can be intimidating but this property is in a perfect location to the pool/bar/restaurant (which are all awesome). It also has the awesome view as advertised. The condo is spacious and has everything you could think of. It is surprisingly quiet unless you are sitting out on the lanai of course. The owners are very thoughtful and accomodating. They negotiated price when flight times changed and left a thoughtful gift for my husband and I for our 30th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again! Thank you again to Kerry and Sue :)

I almost forgot to add the best part! We saw whales from our lanai everyday and there are binoculars in the condo so the views were spectacular.

Great property, great hosts

We had a wonderful 3-week stay in 15B at Hali'i Kai. The property was exactly as represented - clean and comfortable. The owners were most accommodating and friendly. For example, in advance of our stay, I asked if the unit had a Brita water filtering pitcher - they responded by saying they'd get one, and it was in the kitchen on our arrival. We highly recommend this unit and the owners!

Great repeat visit!

We once again enjoyed our stay in unit 15B. The kitchen is well stocked and the condo is very comfortable! The property changed hands from the time our reservation was first made for this year, which was a little worrisome. No need! The new owners are great with communication and live on the island. It was nice to know, though we had no need to contact them. We hope to return soon!
