About Janet and Marv
We have had the awesome privilege of living in Soldotna for over 35 years. After raising 4 children and retiring from the Soldotna Fire Department as a paramedic/engineer, we are enjoying this season in our lives; fishing, golfing, and enjoying our grandchildren. We also enjoy helping our guests plan their Alaskan adventures!
Janet and Marv purchased this Townhome in 1990
Why Janet and Marv chose Soldotna
Soldotna is a perfect location! Whether you desire to fish or hike or kayak or go birding, we are at the center of it all! Just a 3 hour drive from the Anchorage airport and 1 mile from downtown Soldotna!
What makes this Townhome unique
Standing on the deck, there is not another building in sight. Just the bird filled trees, the beautiful Kenai River with all of its abundant fish, the wooded bank across the river, and the tops of the mountains towards Cooper Landing. Great hiking trails right outside your door as well as the option of fishing from our bank. Moose and eagles are common to see!

Peaceful setting on the river close to town
We loved our stay here! We came down for our 10 year anniversary and loved the location and setting. Fished a little bit on the bank down the steps from the house, but no luck. Still so fun! We also were unable to leave Soldotna due to road closures from a massive wildfire and thankfully were able to stay an extra night! Janet was so nice and kind to us and will definitely stay here again!
Great place on the river
A nice comfortable place on the Kenai. The reds were running at their peak while we were there so the ability to fish from bank added extra value. The views of the river from the deck were picture worthy. The only drawback was having to carry almost 180 lbs of salmon filets up the stairs, Not a bad problem to have, really. Another plas was the young bull moose that walked through the back yard one evening.
This house was not only a wonderful place to relax In Soldotna, but it was a great central location to explore the Kenai area. Close to several hiking and fishing opportunities. We’ll definitely be back.
Kenai River Retreat
We loved our stay here. It was exactly what we needed, and the river access/view was fantastic. We highly recommend.
Wish we had more time here!
Our stay was amazing! Janet and Marv were so nice and made sure we had everything and more during our stay. Their property is so beautiful, right on the Kenai River. Their place was clean and comfortable with full kitchen and awesome deck with great views. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Thank you!!
We are located across the river from Soldotna where there are lots of little shops and places to eat. There are 2 big grocery stores (Fred Meyers and Safeway which is open 24 hours a day). Depending on where you are coming from, you may find groceries and restaurants more expensive than you are used to.
There are also several Farmers Markets that are on going during the summer months.
We are just 1 mile downriver from the Soldotna bridge. There is a paved bike path that you can catch that continues past our road and continues all the way to Kenai
The beauty of our location is, The Location!!!
Right on the banks of the Kenai so you can walk down and fish right from our bank or just sit and enjoy the scenery. Across the river, the only thing you can see are trees and the mountains towards Cooper Landing. We are also on the edge of Slikok Recreation Area, a day use park for fishing and great hiking trails. A half mile away puts you at Tsalteshi Trails that are groomed during the winter for cross country skiing or hiking and biking during the summer months.
We are only 8 miles from Kenai, the beach, and more shopping and fishing!
75 miles down the road will take you to Homer, a very scenic drive and the Halibut Capital of the world! 90 miles the other direction and you'll end up in Seward where you can enjoy more fishing, hiking, whale watching and glacier cruises.
Plenty to see and do!
