Ocean Scene was a stunning property before, but since being redesigned and refurbished it is now a truly exceptional property!

Yes, it still ticks all the pre-refurbishment boxes of great location, stunning sea views, 2 parking spaces and garden/terrace overlooking Porthmeor beach, but throw in the exceptionally tasteful redesign resulting in stunning interiors and you now have all boxes well and truly ticked!

Where do we begin? Well, firstly the key details…
Ocean Scene is a large luxurious 5 bedroomed / 3 storey house in St Ives, with stunning views over Porthmeor beach to the Atlantic Ocean from both the house and large front garden. Those sea views can be enjoyed from the bay window seat in the living room and from the two largest bedrooms on first and second floors. To be really indulgent you could even watch the sunset whilst luxuriating in a free-standing bath in each of these bedrooms, ideally with a glass of something fizzy in hand!

On the ground floor is a large open-plan living room leading through to the dining room and newly installed well-equipped kitchen, with utility/WC to the rear. The whole house has been designed by a locally respected interior designer who oversaw the refurb to ensure everything was just perfect. The feel is of classic contemporary with well-designed spaces perfect for all generations of the family.
Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom, with the spacious bedroom with free-standing bath to the front the pièce de resistance with those exceptional views.
Up on the top floor is a shower room and the two further bedrooms, where again the front bedroom steels the limelight with both bed and bath enjoying those fine views.

Across the quiet private road to the front are the 2 parking spaces and path leading down to the garden with summer house, lawn and outdoor dining, the perfect spot to enjoy those sundowners whilst watching the surfers or sunset over Porthmeor beach.
Great care has been taken to create a stylish retreat, particularly for families with young children - the garden even has a fabulous pirate ship and playhouse with table football and Wii console for any rainy days.

Location wise, the house is a short 3 minute walk down to Porthmeor beach and approximately 5 minutes in to the centre of St Ives with its scenic harbour and range of fantastic restaurants, shops and galleries. The renowned Tate gallery is close by right at the top of Porthmeor beach.

A really beautiful house

The property was beautifully presented and really well laid out. Whilst the location up a steep hill was a challenge for the older members of our group, this was easily addressed by me dropping off and picking them up at the bottom of the hill and then walking the few minutes back to the group. This little extra effort was 100% worth it for the stunning views we were rewarded with. I would not hesitate to recommend this house.

Wonderful Oasis

My husband and I rented this home for the month of September. St. Ives was our base from which to explore Cornwall’s coastline. Various family and friends visited us while we were in St. Ives and the house easily accommodated 8 adults. If you have young children, Fay set up a children’s bedroom that is precious. I cannot say enough about the home, it’s location and Fay, the property owner. The house is well appointed, comfortable and recently renovated. The view from all front rooms is spectacular. The beds are quite comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. Also, the garden terrace is remarkable with a stunning view of Porthmeor Beach. We had breakfast and dinner on the terrace when the weather permitted. And, you are in walking distance to the beach and St. Ives. Also, reserved parking is directly in front of the house. It is worth noting St. Ives’ topography is hilly. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. I highly recommend this jewel nestled into the hillside, above the town. Also, Fay was so responsive and helpful; the perfect host!

Ocean Scene is an amazing house over looking the most wonderful view of the sea and beach , the photographs of the house and views on the website were pretty amazing but to actually be there was breath taking. The house has everything you could possibly need, every detail has been carefully thought about by the owner including plenty to entertain the children, the seating and dining area at the bottom of the garden is amazing over looking the beach we loved sitting there in the evening. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was parking for 3 large cars that was an added bonus. We were sad to leave but had an amazing holiday in an amazing house and would love to go back !!!

We stayed for 3 nights for my birthday, and the house is just beautiful. The views are breath taking and the house had everything you’d need. The garden is great, and it was a really thoughtful touch to leave coal for the bbq. Overall our stay couldn’t have been better and I can’t wait to stay again! We were absolutely blown away by this property - the views are jaw dropping, the location is very private but just a few minutes walk to Porthmeor Beach, and the property itself was just wonderful. Everything was clean, homely, and so elegantly decorated. It's very clear that this property is well loved, and so much thought has gone into the finer details such as a coffee machine and dog toys neatly stowed by the door. We had brilliant communication with the owner and a very warm welcome waiting for us. I cannot believe our luck at having found such an absolute gem, and look forward very much to staying again in the future.

Great house and location for a multigenerational visit to St Ives!

The house was just spectacular with everything our party needed and lots more we didn’t expect. The house is beautiful and finished to a great standard. Lots of added extras that made our stay comfortable from beach toys for the kids to windbreakers for your visits to the myriad of local beaches. While the garden isn’t connected to the house itself the, it was separated by a quiet road. Overall a fabulous stay!

8 Ocean View Terrace

We had a fantastic week's stay here ! The location is great for the Surf school and the shops, with Porthmeor beach about a 5 min walk. ( Steep uphill walk on the way back !) All the rooms are a good size with the 2 larger bedrooms having amazing sea views. The view from the lounge is also lovely. The garden is great for a barbeque or drinks on the patio and has panoramic sea views. There is also a den with football table and a play kitchen which our 4 year old daughter loved. Adequate parking for 2 large cars, this house has ticked every box for us this year !!

Amazing holiday let. The views of St Ives were just fantastic. The owners had thought of some really small details that were greatly appreciated . We were so pleased to be able to walk to the beach to bodyboard. Overall the best holiday let we have ever stayed in.
