About Margaret Whitson
We grew up in the Bay Area (since the early '60's), married and raised our sons there. Eventually, we grew tired of the increasingly crowded, hectic pace and finally decided to relocate in the early 00's. We moved to the peaceful, relaxed Central Coast where we could once again embrace a healthy, outdoor lifestyle sans big crowds and crazy traffic. It was no surprise to learn not long after, that we'd moved to the "Happiest Place on Earth," according to National Geographic! We are classically-trained musicians who frequently travel and also like to spend our holidays / summers exploring new places. Over the years, we've met some delightful, very hospitable people Thus, when we travel, it is natural for us to want to share our home with guests who are also searching for a peaceful "vacation getaway" of their own. We strive to do all we can to ensure our guests have a memorable stay at Owl Ridge!
Margaret Whitson purchased this House in 2008
Why Margaret Whitson chose Arroyo Grande
We did an extensive search in the Central Coast before finally buying this little "diamond-in-the-rough" quietly tucked into Arroyo Grande's scenic countryside amidst sprawling ranches & wineries. The property and home were sold "As Is" (no major upgrades have been made to the interior since it was built in 1972) and the property's overgrown acreage needed a tremendous amount of work! It has been a slow transformational process as we continue working and look ahead to our eventual retirement. Our dream has been to make Owl Ridge Oasis our family's forever home and we are excited by all the potential this little slice of paradise offers us. Our grown sons and young grandchildren love spending time here, while dear friends & extended family also enjoy visiting us throughout the four seasons. During your stay, we hope you enjoy the same peaceful comfort & simple pleasures Owl Ridge offers us on a daily basis!
What makes this House unique
All who visit immediately notice the privacy and rustic tranquility Owl Ridge provides both inside and out. It is cozy, relaxing and very unpretentious. Not many vacation homes so close to popular beach communities or college towns (with noisy street traffic, limited parking & dense housing) offer guests such an expansive, bucolic & private retreat -- without putting a major dent in their wallets!
