Beautiful Villa with wonderful views

Villa Bahari, a wonderful peaceful villa, is situated in the the village of Antipata, close to the colourful and thriving harbour of Fiskardo. The villa sits atop a slight rise on a road down to one of the most beautiful beaches in Kefalonia. This traditionally built stone house, built in 2008 by the previous Greek owner, has been built to very high specifications and is surrounded by pine, olive and cypress forest. The villa has far reaching views to Ithaca, Lefkas and beyond to Meganisi and the mainland.

Antipata is home to a traditional Greek restaurant and a small shop, conveniently situated only a 5 minute walk away, and the 20 minute walk to Dafnoudi beach involves a quiet amble down an old country road, followed by forest with the sea glistening suddenly in the near distance.

Below the villa the area is forested, and in the evenings goat bells can be heard as goats forage below on their way through the forest. The villa sits in an acre of grounds, and includes a lovely cooling pool with large pergola providing plenty of shade, flowers and fruit trees. There are also electric gates, keeping the villa both private and secure.

Villa Bahari is built on 3 levels and decorated tastefully in neutral colours throughout. The first floor comprises the main open plan living area of sitting room and kitchen, with doors opening out on to a covered dining area with table for 8. Here one can enjoy meals looking out over the forest to the sea beyond, on those perfect warm summer evenings. There are also 2 double bedrooms and a shared bathroom on this floor. Both bedrooms have doors leading out to a 'wrap around' terrace joining the outdoor dining area.

On the second floor the Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. and a large terrace with views looking out towards Lefkas and the mountains of Greece beyond. Sitting here with a glass of wine in the early evening is heavenly!

On the ground floor a double bedroom with large ensuite bathroom have recently been built. This is a cool, private room, with direct access to the pool area and with its own entrance. Next to it is a 'storage' room, with cupboards and drawers for guests and plenty of space for storing suitcases. This will be charged at an extra cost of £525 for the week.

The pool is small but stays wonderfully cool and has plenty of space for 8 sun loungers and a gazebo providing shade. The pool has a filter, like all pools, which can become clogged up with sun cream. PLEASE ensure you do NOT go in the pool until 10-15 minutes after applying the cream; if you don't, the filter will not work and the pool will become green and dirty. It will also mean many more visits by Dennis, pool man and gardener, and this can impinge on your privacy and time relaxing.

The beautiful coastline, mountains, forest covering vast tracts of land and low rise properties make this a wonderful island to visit. Kefalonians are friendly, helpful and rightly proud of their island. They mean to keep it pristine, with strict laws concerning building (buildings over 3 storeys are not allowed) and forbidding the cutting down of trees.

Fiskardo is only 3 km away, a lovely old harbour famous for its beauty, unspoilt eighteenth century architecture, choice of tavernas and wonderful display of traditional fishing boats as well as glamorous yachts.

There are many beaches to choose from. Dafnoudi is within walking distance, Kimilia is a longer walk through the forest, or can be reached by car (with a short walk at the end), Foki beach has it’s own taverna and is close to Fiscardo, and Alaties and Jerusalem beach are a 10 minute drive away. They all have unspoilt clear blue sea, and are perfect for swimming. At Jerusalem beach you can hire sun loungers for a few hours or for the day. There is also a particularly excellent restaurant here.

BOOKING
For 2025, we have decided to allow only adults, or young couples with babies up to 2 years old, due to noise for our neighbours, water shortage and general wear and tear but will assess it for the following year. It is a peaceful location and is perfect for those who want a quiet 'get away from it all' holiday.
We also ask that NO extra guests visiting stay the night, this is for paid only guests.

The price is for 6 guests and includes all sheets, towels and pool towels. As mentioned above, if you are 7 or 8 people and need the separate basement bedroom and bathroom, this will be £80 extra per night in the high season, £65 in the low season.

Our bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday, but we are happy to accommodate you if you find this difficult, providing there is availability.
