Welcome to Birch Lake!


Our cottage is tucked away just outside of the beautiful town of Elk Rapids. This home away from home is set on over 110 feet of private shore line on a crystal clear, spring fed, all sports lake. We are on 4 acres of wooded land with protected wetlands along our northern border. We see lots of wildlife including deer, rabbits, ducks, loons, turtles and beaver. Birch Lake is a sandy bottom lake with a gradual slope, making it perfect for swimming. Our cottage provides comfortable sleeping for six. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The guest rooms have 2 twin beds all freshy made waiting for your arrival. Our kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove/oven. Our bathroom has a new shower and has two doors, one connecting to the master bedroom and one for guest rooms to access. Minutes away from downtown elk rapids providing access to the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay through a white sandy beach. Whether its golf, water sports, fishing, shopping, wine tasting or just watching the sun set - J&J's Hideaway is a great escape! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Bathroom and tree trimming

The bathroom was a joke, sitting on the toilet, it would wobble back and forth and felt like it was going to come off the floor. The deck needs some problem trees cleared and other ones trimmed.

Very nice and private

Very nice place. Had everything we needed. My only complaint which is minor is that the microwave was on top the refrigerator with no place else to out it. I would def stay there again and recommend.

Birch Lake Cottage

Cute cottage on Birch Lake. Owners decorated the cottage in a very sweet homey way. Extra bonus was the enclosed porch looking out at the lake. I wish the lighting in the cottage was a bit brighter but most days during our stay were sunny. The beach area is great for small kiddos.

Great location

This cottage is in a great location, with great sunset views over the lake. Everything was set up for us to stay perfectly. The cottage is set up very nicely inside. Nice beach area, and very gradually sloping water depth in the lake- perfect for young kids to swim/wade.
